Exclamation Help!!!

Hey ladies! As my title says, I need some help. I just recently went back to liquid foundation. I have never used a foundation brush before, but I heard it is the best way to apply liquid foundation. So does anyone know of any good "how to videos"? Please help point me in the right direction cause I cant seem to find anything. Thanks

Nicole

Re: Help!!!

Are you using a regular flat filbert foundation brush or a stippling brush?

This video compares the MAC 190 and 187. Doesn't have to be MAC, but your brushes are probably similarly shaped to one of them..and you can see how he uses it to apply.

Re: Help!!!

Since I haven't visited the site for awhile I don't have any precise links, but in my opinion it depends on what foundation you are applying and what level of coverage you desire to achieve (such as light, medium, full, etc.). Let me know or stay tuned for other's responses.

Re: Help!!!

I went to Prescriptives and got custom blending for foundation. It is a med to full coverage.

Thanks that was a really great video. I never knew there was such a think as a stipplin brush! I have been using minerals and my kabuki for a couple years now, but it just is not cutting it anymore.

So after watching the video I have a couple of questions. Which do you think is best? I want something that is going to be fast and the stippling one seems like it would be faster than the 190? Also, I used to just use my fingers back in the day. I heard this was a NO-NO so I'm alittle nervous about using a brush. I guess I felt like I could blend better with my fingers vs a small brush. So with that I'm kinda leaning towards the stippling one again. I feel like the regular flat brush makes my face look streaky I guess. Its like all those little fine hairs on my face seem to show up more! Does that make sense? Ok your turn for input! Thanks a bunch again ladies!

Oh yeah, do you have to wash the stippling brush after every use? What brush would you use for applying loose powder to set my foundation? Again, I had custom blend powder made.

Re: Help!!!

Stippling the brush is really fast, it gives a beautiful finish, and you can use it to buff in afterwards. I prefer it much more than the 190. I would only use the 190 for cream foundations. If you intend to use the 187 for foundation, I suggest skipping dupes and getting the real thing. The dupes are not dense enough for liquid foundation.

You don't have to wash a foundation brush after every use, but you can get those brush cleaning wipes to clean them quicky after every use and REALLY clean them properly once a week.
