Help! I need a Pink for African American skin - that will show!

Hi,

I have an Black client who wants a pinkish eyeshadow. She wants to look like a princess. Do you know of any pinks that work for black skin. She is as dark as Vivica Fox or Gabrielle Union.

Thanks

If you were to do a pink eye on a Black person what colors would you use for the lid, crease, brow. Thanks a million.

i'm pretty close to the complexions of the ladies you mentioned, and i think they could wear any shade of pink. maybe you should try a primer before you apply the shadow to ensure more color intensity. if you want something shimmery and vibrant (like a hot pink) you might want to try black radiance loose shimmer shadow in sunset sparkle. if you're looking for more of a baby pink you might want to try iman's shadow in baby pink. i like mac sketch as a crease color (deep burgandy) but use a light hand when blending. hope this helps. post some pics of your finished product. good luck!

MAC had those shadow sticks and paints that you can apply underneath the shadows to intensify the color. In terms of e/s if you want a candy pink - then sushi flower is quite strong and bubbley gum pink.

I agree with this statement. I'm not dark, but I use the MAC CCB+Paint combo and even the e/s and piggies that usually come out "light" or sheer have much more "ooomph" with the primers.

I think you could really use ANY pink shadows. Rio De Rosa is a good one (just got from LittleLisa and I LOVE IT). To make the pink stand out more, utilize a good eyeliner.

Yeah Mac Pink Venus and they have another PInk Eyeshadow. Put foundation on the lids so the colors will show better. You can also check if Mialni or Presitge has some pink eyeshadows, use those to test out the colors. Also I am pretty sure Make Up Forever probably does have a pink eyeshadow that would show up on African American, Indian, and darker skintones.

MAC Pink Venus and Sushi Flower are great on dark skin, and Sephora brand eyeshadow makes 2 or 3 lovely, very vivid shades of pink as well.Hmmm...wanted to add a few things. My friend, who is Black and Native American, loves these MAC colors, too: Da Bling, Swish, Peppier, and Star Violet...Her favorite pink, though, is by Urban Decay, called Hotpants.(Also she has a bright pink Vincent Longo called Libertango, which I like more than she does, however...)

Benefit makes a beautiful pink called Lola that I love on dark skin! Also try MAC's pink pigments.

Mattese NYC's Scream is a gorgeous pink. I would use it with a black eyeshadow along with a nice taupe or irridescent eggshell.

Mac's fushia pigment is good and I have brown skin and it shows well!
