i need a good foundation!
i have combo skin, i think. My nose is usually dry and my forehead and chin are oily. the rest of my face is pretty normal. at the moment im using max factor colour adapt foundation, and it makes my skin very oily and shiny, which i dont like. i would also need something that covers a bit better, as i have large pores and the occasional blemish. i prefer the matte look, and something that looks natural, like you have no meakup on, but it still gives you that healthy perfect porcelain skin look. i dont want my forehead to be like a mirror (yes thats how bad it gets lol). im not so sure about undertones and all this stuff, i guess i would have to go ask someone in the makeup section about that. but based on the above information, what foundations would you recommend? also, is liquid or cream better? im looking for a daytime foundation, and preferably something thats not TOO expensive. thanks!

Re: i need a good foundation!
I think that's a hard call, because I've tried a number of foundations that address each issue really well, but I have yet to find one that addresses them all effectively. I use a skin bleaching system that seems to make my face peel once a week. On the days that it's normal or bordering on oily, without any flakes or dryness, I use Joey Pure Pores Foundation, because it really minimizes the look of my pores. On days that it's dry, I use Lorac satin finish, but I'm in the market for a new foundation, because I'm not crazy about that one. I'm actually considering a cream makeup too.

Re: i need a good foundation!
Right now the best drugstore foundation I've found is L'Oreal Mattique. It's not perfect, but it does match my skintone very well. I have very oily skin, so my whole face looks like a mirror after a few hours
It's a medium coverage so it hides lighter blemishes but I still need a little concealor for the bright red ones and for undereye circles. It stays matte for a while but I haven't found any foundation that stays matte for long with my skin! Actually the best product I've found for keeping my skin matte is CoverGirl Professional Loose Powder -- I've tried department store and drugstore brands and this is the best, and it's only $5! Also, have you seen the thread on Prescriptives Flawless Foundation? It seems to be good at keeping most people's skin matte, although it's $40. I've also heard good things about Maybelline Dream Matte Mouse (check out the reviews, there's a lot for this product) but I couldn't find a color that matched my skin. Plus, it's not oil-free so it may break out your skin but I haven't heard any complaints so far. As for liquid vs. cream, I'm not sure if it matters, but I've never used a cream ... Either way you probably want something that's oil-free (no need to add extra oil to your face!), and if you're prone to acne you'll want something that is "noncomedogenic" or "nonacnegenic" which is less likely to clog your pores. (Oil-free makeup doesn't have oil but it may have other pore-clogging ingredients.) Are you using a moisturizer on your nose? That can help prevent your nose from drying out, then you can use matte mu on the rest of your face. If you're prone to acne, Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream is a good moisturizer that won't clog your pores -- on the rare occasion I get dry skin (from using too much acne medicine) this clears it right up! Good luck!

Re: i need a good foundation!
I hate looking for the ultimate foundation. I don't think there is one at least not for me. I have a combination skin prone to oiliness and my makeup doesn't seem to last. I've tried Laura Mercier Oil Free foundation and I like the coverage a lot however I think it shows my pores. I loved the Christian Dior Pure Light foundation but it doesn't last all day on my skin. I'm currently using the Chanel Vitalumier and I love the way it makes my skin glow but I get oily later on during the day and the foundation seems to fade away. I've used the Lumene Foundations (available at CVS Pharmacy) and I like them especially the one for combo/oily skin seems to last well.

Re: i need a good foundation!
Perhaps you could try Prescriptives or Bobbi Brown and get the oil free version since your main problem is there.

Re: i need a good foundation!
This is a hard subject but I think if you could get samples from mu counters that would be best so you don't spend the full price.
