Re: lash stylist, application
i havent tried it because of that reason! i hear its hard to put on ALL the time, and the spike looking lashes arent very me. Im sure you will hear on here that it will get easier to apply once you get used to it!

Re: Lash stylist, application
I LOVE this mascara!!! I use this in the roots of my lashes and then do my tips with Max Factor LP Mascara. The Lash Stylist gives volume and the LP gives Length. I just wiggle the comb from the root of my lashes up. I only do about 2 coats. Anything more starts to get messy.

Re: Lash stylist, application
After seeing this on Leila I got hold of this mascara today in Waterproof Black. When I compared it to the Non-waterproof version in-store I noticed a difference between the two: on the waterproof it says "super-thick lashes with a 40% lift" whereas on the non-waterproof it says "super-thick lashes with a 60% lift"! I was debating between the 2 but rarely rarely do I go for non-waterproof mascaras as I have sensitive (therefore watery) eyes. Has anyone managed to compare the two?

What I am guessing is probably the difference Ley is that most waterproof mascaras are a little more dry than non-waterproof ones... That might be why the waterproof says 60% lift, bc the mascara won't be so wet as to take some curl out of your lashes before it dries. Does that make any sense?
I haven't tried the waterproof, only the regular. I wiggle it gently at the base of my lashes and bring it up to the ends in a smooth movement like mac-whore recommended... It does get much easier to apply, it is just very odd at the beginning.

Yeah, that makes sense...I wish I could wear the non-waterproof version of most mascaras, they seem more shiny and less stiff when they dry. But alas... no can do I just tried the lash stylist now as I'm curious about this brush and I think it will take some practise. My eyelashes looked so black when I first put it on and I had to comb them through with a metal lash comb until they were dry. I can't imagine wearing this without a lash comb, I'd look a bit clockwork orangish LOL But it has potential and it definitely holds the curl! I think I'll try it with a heated lash curler later on tonight. Thanks for the rec!

Np Ley! Let me know how the heated lash curler works with it...
I used to use only waterproof mascara, but it would irritate my eyes and as you said, they were much more stiff on my lashes. I eventually gave up on them and went with the regular mascacra.

That's interesting, so the WP mascaras irritate you more? I haven't found a mascara that feels natural on and doesn't leave my eyes feeling a bit uncomfortable within a few hours or even right from the beginning! I'm not sure I know how to deal with this dilemma, maybe I've been wrong to avoid non-WP mascaras

Well every person is different hun...What might irritate my eyes might not irritate yours you know?
The thing that actually "irritated" my eyes from WP mascaras was the little flakies that would fall of bc the formulation of the mascara was often so dry. Those would get in my eyes and drive me crazy all day! Too I kind of like the easy removal of non-WP mascaras...I don't have to rub at my eyes with the makeup remover anymore which is very nice!

Re: Lash stylist, application
So I had a quick go with the heated lash curler and combined with the mascara formula I got thick lashes AND lift (a rare combination!). Looks promising but I'd really like the lashes to look less spiky if that makes sense. The lash comb separated them but didn't encourage a great curl (granted I curled my lashes with my Shiseido curler this morning, applied Lash Stylist on top of the mascara I already had on this afternoon and recurled with a heated curler this evening!). So far it seems this mascara is primarily a lifting formula more than a curling one...

Re: Lash stylist, application
Yeah I don't think its primary function is curling per se... But thanks for posting your results dearie! Do you use a heated curler that looks like a comb or one that resembles a traditional lash curler?

Re: Lash stylist, application
That's ok I have the comb-type curler, I was given it as a present and have only just figured out what to do with it, i.e. use it on top of mascara not before it. I don't know why I've suddenly started lemming mascaras (yes I do, MUT! ) but I think Maybelline Full and Soft is next on my list, WP and non-WP!
