Make lipstick last longer?
I use lipliner all the time but what I often find is that the lipliner stays put (which is good)
but I have to constantly reapply the lipstick/gloss
and this is with dept. store brands too!
Any tips for making lipcolor last longer?
for lipstick?
for lipgloss?

I have the same problem, even when I apply lipliner over the entire lip?!

Re: Make lipstick last longer?
There's also the pressed powder trick... You're supposed to blot it on before applying? I forgot. Have you tried MAC Pro Longwears? Those things seriously do not budge unless you use something oil-based on them.

Re: Make lipstick last longer?
Sounds silly, but I did have some success with it (I prefer gloss to lipstick, so I don't wear lipstick often).
But - after you put on the lipstick, put a tissue over your mouth, held to your lips, and brush pressed powder over the tissue. It seems to help set the lippie.

A primer is supposed to help.

Re: Make lipstick last longer?
You can buy a lipstick sealant from Sally Hansen that really actually seals it on. It is minty and tingly when it goes on wet, then it dries to set until you take it off with oil-based remover. It is tricky to learn to use- you have to learn to finesse it while applying or it tends to pick up the lipstick while you brush it on. It takes a couple of times to get the hang of it. Also, I read a tip to smile while it dries so it isn't too tight & cracks when you're talking/eating throughout the day, and that really works. I don't use it every day, but if I'm wearing a really strong lip-like red- I seal it and don't have to worry about it at all.

Re: Make lipstick last longer?
Be conscious of when you lick your lips.
Oh and I put lip balm (MAC tendertones) after the lip liner then lipstick (and then sometimes lipgloss). Dont know if that helps but I do that.
My lipstick stays on for a good couple of hours until I eat or drink (and sometimes even survives that).

Re: Make lipstick last longer?
I use a brush and translucent powder - pressed works, so I'm assuming you could go for any fairly innocuous shade (just not bronzer or something). Can't help you on lip primers (I use emu oil to moisturise my lips) but I'm sure somebody here can.

Re: Make lipstick last longer?
there is suposed to be something where you do the lip liner than the the lip stick
than blot the lip stick and do a light dusting of powder than lip stick again
but i dont know if it works or not.

That sounds great.. because sometimes I like to flaunt some red lipstick.. and my favorite brand doesn't carry the color in one of those duo color/glosses. Thanks for the heads up.. I'm getting some the next time I'm out shopping!

Re: Make lipstick last longer?
Blot pressed/loose powder over your lips or apply foundation on your lips and then apply the lip color over the top. Good luck

Re: Make lipstick last longer?
Well IMHO, there's nothing more sexy than a woman reapplying her lipstick in public so I don't see this is a problem!!! lol
