Exclamation Mineral Makeup VS Traditional Liquid

Hey Ladies!
I was curious as to what everyone prefers: mineral makeup or traditional liquid foundation? I have used Clinique liquid foundation years ago. But lately have been using mineral makeups, and currently Bare Escentuals. I have really been thinking about going to the Prescriptives counter and getting Custom Blended foundation and powder. I like mineral makeup but have problems getting the right color. I just absolutely LOVE the idea of getting a color specifically for me as well as a foundation to help with all my specific needs. Just wondering if I'm the only person out there that's considering going back to liquid after wearing mineral?

Hi,

No, you aren't the only one...I tried and tried minerals off and on for the past few years. I either couldn't find the right color or couldn't make it look right on me (on a regular basis). I still like the idea for minerals and may go back some day. But, right now I am using EL DW Light. I've used it for the past month and a half and love it! I feel like I'm not wearing anything (or very minimal) but is buildable if you want more coverage. It evens out my skin tone and looks natural.

Re: Mineral Makeup VS Traditional Liquid

I've tried a few mmu brands, but my skin is just too dry to use powder foundation of any kind and have it look good. So I'm relying on more moisturizing liquid foundations since they end up looking a lot better on my skin.

Re: Mineral Makeup VS Traditional Liquid

I'm thinking of going back to liquid as I'm having a hard time with my mmu. I want to try a new brand. I really don't want to though as I have really oily skin and liquid foundation just melts or looks really greasy after a while on me. I actually prefer mmu.

Re: Mineral Makeup VS Traditional Liquid

So ladies, I took the plung and went to the Prescriptives counter today. I got Custom Blending for foundation, loose powder, and concealer! Yep, I'm pretty excited now, but we will have to see if it stays that way over the next couple of days. I have ALOT of red/pink to my skin. I have always noticed that every other foundation I have used seemed to make me look like I took a powder brush of blush all over my face! Not good. I cant believe how my face is actually not red now! I wil have to get back to everyone in a couple of days to see if everything is still looking good and see if I'm still impressed or not!

Re: Mineral Makeup VS Traditional Liquid

I, too, had been using mmu for the past few months. This week, I started using my liquid foundation again. It's looks better in the morning, but is shiny by lunch. I've been using Neutrogena Skin Clearing formula and it's oil-free, but MMU just seems to last better on me.
