i went to mac today to pick up a few things and i dont know rather to be piss im confused i wanted to get some hyper real so the mua went to take my stuff to the register and im like what color did you get for me and she said nc 400 your the same color as me she said so i know it will work i didnt want to be rude i paid and left first off we are not the same color she has a serious hispanic tan no offense to anyone so i test it on my chin in the car and it was too dark so i go back inside and tell her i would like the nc 300 and she hands me nw 300 and said that i can pull it off im normally a nc35 that they dont have any nc300 in stock i should of known something was wrong when she 1 didnt put some on to see if it match swiped it on my hand my hand and neck are two diffrent colors rather than say we dont have your color in she gives me the wrong shade what the hell! does this sound right can nc people pull of nw?????? if anyone has pulled it off please un confuse me

I'm NC and generally what people say is that it depends on what you want to emphasize. If you want to emphasize your cool tones then you would get a match for your skin tone, but if you want to de-emphasize your skin tone then you can wear warm. I wear a NW concealor to get more coverage that way, and I use my NC Studio Fix on top.

But you know what girl, it sounds like you are unsatisfied and if you are unsatisfied you should return it. Makeup is too costly to to be unsatisfied and suffer with something you don't like.

I agree. You need to take it back if you haven't done so already. She shouldn't have shade matched you for a foundation on your hand. What a dip! Get your money back.

return it. when i got colormatched i made sure to try on my face before i bought it.

Sorry you had a crappy experience at the MAC counter, han. I agree, I would take it back if you're not happy with the shade.
