Newbie "must haves"

Today, I'm planning on swinging by the mall (Nordstrom or Sephora) for some "must haves". Right now, all of the products I have is anything from Mary Kay, except for my Sephora foundation brush. I have the five piece brushset from Mary Kay (powder, cheek, eye crease, highlighter, eye-liner/brow brush), but I need brushes designed specifically for cream-to-powder eye colors (and possibly MAC pigments, since I'm starting to love looking at those in the tutorials). Not sure what I should be looking for.

Also, any advice about other items that are great for bases, et cetera (I'm still learning all the terminology ) would be awesome

You ladies are so creative and great! I love looking at all the FOTD and tutorials

Re: Newbie "must haves"

For brushes that will work well with creamy products, look for synthetic brushes rather than natural hair brushes. I use a synthetic brush by EOB for blending my MAC Paint with a pic of it in my Notepad.

My favorite e/s base is MAC Paint with MAC Cream Color Base on top of it. I would definitely check those out if I were you, they allow your e/s to show true and last all day without creasing.

If your foundation doesn't tend to last, I would suggest checking out Smashbox Photo Finish Primer at Sephora. It is great for increasing foundation lasting power!

I also love MAC Fibre Rich Lash Mascara, DiorShow Mascara, MAC Pigments, and Stila and Urban Decay e/s.
