Please Help!! I Can Not Find The Right Concealer

Hi girls,
Once again I am in need of your help. My young teenage daughter has very dark circles under her eyes. She inherited this from her dad. She is an NC20 at the Mac counter. I have purchased for her Channel quick cover in medium beige, Estee Lauder Ideal Light Brush on Illuminator in soft pink. The combo is OK but not really great. Within a very short amount of time it looks gray under her eyes. She has also tried Bobbie Brown corrector in bisque with sand powder over. This looked perfect in the store , However once again gray. I returned that and the sales girl said she just could not match her and maybe she should try dermablend. However based upon the reviews on dermablend I think this would be much to difficult for her to spread. She prefers a brush or a foam tip. She is also useing Bobbie Brown eye cream everyday. I am going to Nordstoms in the morning any suggestions? Becca maybe? I am at a lost for her. Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

Re: Please Help!! I Can Not Find The Right Concealer

Sorry I cannot help but I gave up finding a concealer for me. All the concealers I tried emphasize the fine lines around my eyes. I hope the other girls here can help you.

Re: Please Help!! I Can Not Find The Right Concealer

Have you thought of trying Bare Escentuals? I have dark undereye circles myself, and can usually get away with just the BE powder foundation dotted and blended under my eyes. It's not the longest lasting for me because I have rather oily skin, but it works better for me than most concealers (which end up caking up and just changing the circles to a different color!)

Hope that helps!

Re: Please Help!! I Can Not Find The Right Concealer

I love mac studio finish concealer and alot of the women rave about the select cover-up and moisture cover concealers by mac. I hope you can find something for your daughter she's lucky to have a mom that cares so much to help her out!

You might want to look at this one (tutorial by Devine...yes it's for an eye makeup tutorial - gold and brown -, but she starts with foundations and concealer and the under eye area....looks amazingly brighter)....check it out. Devine uses Select Moisturcover by Mac in this one:

Gold and Brown Tutorial

Here's a couple other tutorials on concealer around the eyes:

She should try a yellow concealer to hide her dark circles. From what I can read, if her circles turn grey its because the concealer is too pink and her dark circles are blue.
I have blue dark circles and I tried every brand and every shades of concealers until I tried the yellow stick from Avene.
Dont forget this simple rule : yellow hides blue and green hides red.

Re: Please Help!! I Can Not Find The Right Concealer

All the sales girls use a pink corrector or concealer based upon her skin tone. She has a yellow under tone. Mac NC20 is perfect. However, these blue dark circles she has because her skin is so thin in that area and sometimes get darker as the month goes on are so hard to cover. Her twin sister does not have this problem so kids constantley have something not to nice to say. There was a sales girl at the Mac counter who put on something plus orange eyeshadow and it was the best cover so far, but she look like she had stage makeup on. I am trying to find her a natural look. I am starting to think it's not out there. One makeup artist referred to her dark circles as a freckle. Dermablend? Becca? A doctor? Thanks Girls

Re: Please Help!! I Can Not Find The Right Concealer

I have dark circles too! they are quite prominent an all! . I think alot of concealers out there are a waste of money!.
Have you tried YSL radiant touch, thats a popular concealer and it shouldn't look to heavy either. I couldn't get it because it wasn't pale enough for my whiteish skin lol . x

Re: Please Help!! I Can Not Find The Right Concealer

Where are all of our concealer gurus? If you check out those threads, look for mention of Benefit's concealers. I don't know if department stores carry it (I rarely go to the actual malls - I am an online shopper), but Boi-ing is supposed to be an excellent pair for dark undereye circles. That is $18. They also have a kit called Realness of Concealness for $28.

Re: Please Help!! I Can Not Find The Right Concealer

I went to the makeup counter today. The Mac counter was too crazy. There was no Becca counter either. There was no YSL Counter either....So I ended up at prescriptives. I purchased the camouflage cream in Y/O dark Level 5 and traceless level 3. The makeup artist first applied the one with and SPF but it was way to fake looking and seemed to bring even more attention to the eye area. We will see how my daughter makes out. I wiil keep you all posted. I would also like to thank each and everyone of you for all your help. Talk to you soon. I'm sure this concealer quest is not over. My daughter is covinced nothing can help.
