Primer

Why would a person need a foundation primer? It is for the entire face or just specific areas? Do you need to use a moisturiser when using one???

I use a foundation primer after I put on my moisturizer and it keeps my foundation on longer and it seems to make my skin look smoother and my pores smaller. BTW, I just tried a sample of SmashBox's primer and it is fantastic. I just ordered some yesterday. I was using a Dior primer, but SmashBox is much better. I put the primer on my entire face because I put foundation on my entire face. Hope this helps.

Re: Primer

There are primers for face, eyes and lashes. I love to use primer on my skin because I have large pores. It covers them and applying foundation is easier because your skin is smooth! You don't have to apply it on your whole face, when you don't like. I always moisturize my face first.

Re: Primer

I agree with pj03079. Foundation Primer is a colorless gel that provides a barrier between the skin and foundation to ensure freshness and long-lasting color. But currently I only apply moist then foundation. heehee lazi again. I also think foundation + concealer bring such good effect as using primer. How about you guys?

Re: Primer

I generally moisturizer, wait about 5 mins. and then apply the primer. It truly helps set the makeup, as well as "hide" any imperfections such as large pores, fine lines, etc.

Re: Primer

yeah lol i'm sure everyone has told you already.. its a silicone bsaed gel.. i got a sample from sephora.. smashbox photofinishand it worked beautifully !

i use the urban decay primer potion for my eyeshadows ... and it works wonderfully as well ! both you can find at sephora..t he urban decay is 14 bucks and the smashbox one is 36 i think..
but you can hit the 'beauty to go' and find a smaller size for 15.50 ! they have it in tinted as well...

hope it works it makes your make uplast so much longer ! which is a must have for me during summer time !
Some women suggested using the monistat chafing cream.. b/c it contains silicone in it as well... i bought this before i tried out smashbox and in my opinion monistat didnt work as great as the smashbox did..... the monistat stuff says dont apply near eye areas...well i like my eyes and i dont want to risk any irritation so i dont mind spending 15.50 for a decent primer thats made to be worn near your eyes..

well, hope this helps !

Re: Primer

there are also lip primers.

i only use a primer on my laugh lines so that my foundation doesn't slip into them and look cakey.

Re: Primer

**ps ! the silicone kinda acts like a plastic wrap so it traps everything on your skin's surface in..oils....dirt....which can lead to skin irritation and breaks out ! so be careful and be sure to wash your face at night !

Re: Primer

Re: Primer

I don't use primer, but I always use it on customers. It just makes the foundation last longer and it glides on much better.
