Question Problems applying eye make-up

Hi!

Phew, first thread, I’m a little nervous *laugh* Anyway, here we go.

I’m having quite some trouble with eye make-up, it’s rather hard for me to do because I have great difficulties with the order. You see, my eyes don’t like to stay evenly, I always have to “stretch” the upper lid with my finger a little so I can apply eye shadow and eyeliner with the other hand because without this, my lid is so “crumpled” (I don’t know how to express this is German, so English is even harder) that applying anything is quite impossible.

Well, it works okay for me, but then it gives me problems. When I have eye shadow applied and want to do eyeliner, I have to touch the shadow with my fingers and it smears or comes off. If I do it the other way round, I mess up the eyeliner.

Is there any way to prevent this? Or, while we’re at it, is there any way to get my lids to relax so I can apply shadow and stuff without touching my lids with my fingers to hold them still?

This sounds so ridiculous, I know...

Re: Problems applying eye make-up

Don't be nervous! Welcome to MuT!

Have you tried tilting your head back and looking in the mirror while applying eye makeup? That allows for the lid to be stretched out a little without actually having to stretch it with your fingers. Also, have you tried any eyeshadow primers? This should help prevent the eyeshadows from rubbing off.

Hope that helps some!

Re: Problems applying eye make-up

maybe your lid's skin is dry and you need to moisturise it?
haha i was thinking maybe try to use an icecube to relax it. i've only done that when i had huge undereye bags, but maybe this can work?
