The last couple of days I've only worn eyeliner on my top eyelid instead of top and bottom like usual and I really don't think it suits me.
I just think I look strange and it also makes me look really tired.
I even had someone say I looked ill when I'm completley fine (Great compliment, huh? )
I don't know why but I just do not seem to suit having no eyeliner on my bottom lid and waterline.
Is it the same for anyone else?
And does anyone have any tips for using liner on the bottom so I don't look odd but keeping it natural looking?

i cant seem to get to like the way it looks on my bottom lid acutally. like the water-line is the closest thing i'll usually do.

or else i usually just line the top lid.

I'm the same as Retro, I look a bit funny with stuff on my waterline daily, I look a lot better with stuff just on the top

i line at the lash area, only the first half of the outer lower lash... smudged but cleaned up after (does that make sense?)
I only line my waterline if I am doing some sort of extreme eye, and that's usually at night.

I wear liner on both the top and the bottom lashline, though never on my waterline, it doesn't suit me when I line my waterline. I do what brewgrl does, I only line the area on the outer lash line, usually stopping around half way, it's a great trick to make your eyes look bigger

I look weird without eyeliner on my bottom lid/water line as well. I put it all the way around, and just smudge it with a Q-Tip to give it kind of a smokier effect.

I thought I looked weird at first if i didn't use eyeliner on the bottom but I've grown to like it and now I feel too made up if i wear liner on the bottom. I always have to wear mine on the waterline if i do. If i place it a bit lower, I look really odd.

here's a question. putting certain liners on the waterline just cause my eyes to water incessantly. I can do some pencils, but is there a trick to this. Maybe it is just the action of keeping the lower part of skin surrounding the eye taught? Advice would be most appreciated.

I wear it top and botton about half of the time and never thought one scheme looked better or worse than the other... Just different.. And never tired looking although at my age I'm always tired!! Lol

I always thought that lining the top only was more casua, more day wear and lining the top and bottom was dressier and more evening wear.. In my mind at least...

lining all the bottom line makes me look older so i just line 1/3 (the outer) and smudge it a little bit, i read this tip on magazines, its more natural

I look silly with just eyeliner on my top lid, so i line also the bottom, but i never go the entire way, just 1/3 on the outer corner, and smudged.

Darla, try lining your waterline very close to your lashes (like you want to apply liner on the roots of your lower lashes). It's the only way i can apply something on my waterline. I also use a khol pencil, but it never stays long on my eyes .

Thanks everyone! I think I'll try lining just 1/3 of my lower lid then smudging it tomorrow.
Like Adrienne said I feel like eyeliner on the top and bottom is sometimes a bit too made up (especially if you have eyeshadow on as well) and to look a bit more natural I tried it only on the top but it just looked bad lol

Darla, when you line your waterline do you just draw it straight on right next to your eye? (If that even makes sense) Or do you pull down your lower lid and then line it like that so the pencil isn't touching your eye?
I find that if you pull your lower lid down and draw it on the waterline so the pencil doesn't actually touch your eye it makes your eyes water much less. I have horrible watery eyes but they actually never effect my eyeliner just the foundation under my eyes which goes all patchy.

Eyeliner on the top makes my lids look tinier and puffier... I tightline the top and line and smudge the bottom... LOTSA mascara tho...

I think I look about 10 when I don't line my waterline, I don't know why, I think it's just 'cause I've grown used to wearing it there everyday!

I used to feel the same way, and then out of laziness I quit using it on my waterline... I've never really been one to always line my bottom lashline. It's rare that I line anything but my upper lashline anymore, even though it makes my eyes appear a lot smaller when I line both.
