Which store do you like the best? Which one has the best selection and/or prices? What can I expect to find at either store?

Ulta has both high end and drugstore cosmetics. Sephora carries more high end stuff and has a better selection of high end brands. Their prices for the same products are the same, though.

I guess it depends on what you're looking for.

Yeah Ulta has drugstore and highend stuff but i dont live near an ulta. If i want drugstore stuff i go to walgreens and highend i go to Sephora.

my ulta has vincent longo,red earth,urban decay,too faced,sugar, bourgois,dermablend,elizabeth arden,lola,smashbox,amazing cosmetics,bare essen. (those are the ones i can think of at the moment, there are more) plus all the drugstore brands as well as a million brands of salon hair care products

sephora is over an hour away, but when i finally went to one i was disappointed, it was a tiny store about the size of Claire's in the mall....the brands i was interested in that they had that ulta didnt were: stilla,pout,tarte,benefit...and of those i didnt buy much

Really? I didn't know they made Sephora's that small! Mine is pretty big. They also have Dior, Nars, Laura Mercier, Lancome, Makeup Forever, Cargo, Becca, etc.

i have 2 Sephora where i live and one doesn't carry Laura Mercier while one does.

i actually love sephora when i need my high end stuff, because they have more of a variety. Ulta on the other hand has a handfull of high end make up and lower end make up, but i go because they also have nail polishes and salon shampoos and conditioners and what not. So they both are good in their own sense!

Drugstore brands are cheaper at Target & Wal-Mart than at Ulta. Something about Ulta just doesn't cut it for me. Though they do have a much wider range of hair care than Sephora.

Sephora has more selection of High-End Brands, but I do like Ulta because they have some great drugstore items. I visit them both regularly for different things.

I use Ulta for my hair products because they usually have great sales....even on the high end stuff. I prefer Sephora for my makeup because they have a better selection.

i live in SoCal, and there are a few Sephora stores around here. the closest one to me is in an outdoor mall in Rancho Cucamonga, and it is not small at all! it has a much better selection than Ulta (which is also at this same mall). it carries only high end makeup, but also has lotions, perfumes, colognes, and skin care products as well. i just prefer Sephora. i believe there is also one in Hollywood, but i have never been there. i've been to the one inside the Alladin Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and the one at the Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and both of those are HUGE and have an even better selection than the Sephora near me.

Sephora always has my vote!

I love Sephora. I just love to go in there and breathe. I love the element-the atmosphere. Ulta has all my hair needs however, and that is a lot. They seem to be cheaper too. Guess it's Ulta for me.

Well, I've never set foot in either store, but I've ordered from both. Sephora has more high-end brands than Ulta does, but both are good stores. I guess one thing is that with Ulta you get free shipping on orders $65 and up and at Sephora it's $75 and up. They both have their own brand of makeup, which I feel both are of pretty good quality. I guess it's just personal preference - or whichever you live closer to.
