Smashbox or Laura Mercier?

Ok ladies.. I need your opinions. For ladies that have tried Laura Mercier primer and Smashbox which do you prefer and why?

Can you please let me know your skin type?

I've read the reviews and a few threads on these 2 primers and I'm still not sure about which one to pick.. I have never used primer before so I definitely need your opinions.

I can't comment on Laura Mercier, but I've used the Smashbox primers and I hate them. I have very oily skin and they make it much worse.

I just got Laura Mercier's and I was very disappointed. Smashbox's is much better IMHO.

I can't say anything about Laura's, cause I havent used it. I have the Smashbox primer with dermaxyl complex, and it's alright, I wouldn't buy it again. I have started to use the mac prime + prep and its great and really cheap

i use Smashbox primer with dermaxyl and i like it a lot. My skin is on the dry side though.

CAN'T COMMENT ON LAURA MERCIER TOO, BUT I'VE TRIED SMASHBOX PRIMER AND IT DID NOT HELP THAT MUCH - MADE ME OILIER.

i use smashbox's primer and seems to make my skin oily. i want to try the laura mericier one though.

I"ve used the smashbox but I like monistat anit-chaffing gel, ITS WAY cheaper and works better, I dont get oily and it gives my foundation a silky finish. I have a sample of the LM primer, I'll test it on monday and tell if I like the smashbox or lm better!

Well, I've used the regular Smashbox photo finish and the one with dermaxyl or whatever it's called. Hated both of them. Also tried the monistat stuff - seems the same as Smashbox. I don't know if all primers have that texture, but I just feel like I'm putting grease on my face. It's really oily-feeling IMO. In addition to not mattifying me, I didn't see how either made any difference in my skin's texture, or appearance of pores.

I've tried LM but not Smashbox. However, if Smashbox is close to Monistat Chafing Gel, then I'd tried a similar one LOL! I preferred LM, although Sue Devitt is one I'm dying to get my hands on!

I too use Smashbox primer with dermaxyl and I have combo skin and its the best IMHO.

acne prone - oily/combo skin.
I use smashbox primer every once in a while.
My skin gets more oily when I use this (having to use more oil blotting sheets).
But since I bought it, my intention is to finish using it before I get another one.

Is there sephora near you? Maybe you can get some samples and try them out before deciding which one to buy.
