Yep, the tulip symbol is the macro setting. So use this when taking close up, preferably no flash, and take it in natural light. HTH

yup, the tulip helps a lot. natural daylight because flash will wash out the colors.

Re: Taking closeup photos..HELP!!

Ooh - great tips and great link - I'll have to check all this out. My DH takes my pics for me, and I always end up looking like I'm inside a fishbowl...

I think he angles the camera funny, too.

Re: Taking closeup photos..HELP!!

Just to add to the fab tips already suggested...
Natural light is best where possible ... though not direct sunlight.
If you take pics indoors without flash, try to steer clear of artificial light sources, as these will create a 'colour cast' on your pics.
Tungsten lighting gives an orange cast and flourescent bulbs give a blueish tinge.

Re: Taking closeup photos..HELP!!

I tried using the macro setting on mine, with no flash or anything and my makeup just didnt show up at all, any ideas why? I didn't have any bright light around me either :s
