Tips for making face look round?
My face has a very oval, long, slim appearance. I actually want to try something to make my face appear a bit "chubbier". The only tip I know is to put blush right on the apples of the cheeks and not blend toward your temples. Is there anything else I can do?

Re: Tips for making face look round?
I'm the complete opposite! I want a slimmer face. Hmm, i'm not sure what to do. I was gonna suggest the blush on the apples of your cheeks but you've got that tip already!
Hope some of the girls can help you out.
PS. Congrats on 1300 posts!

Well, from someone who has a round face, you are gorgeous!
One thing you could do is pull your hair back or up? Long hair on a long face can draw it down more.

I have a long face, too. Bangs help and when my hair is shorter it seems to make my face appear fuller.

Re: Tips for making face look round?
A round face is supposed to make you look younger. Mine started to thin out a few years ago and honestly I don't miss it.
I've never seen highlighting tips for making your face fuller.

Re: Tips for making face look round?
You guys are hilarious I hate my long face- its so oval.. totally egg shaped
Thanks Mzbees and its so true what you wrote-- I tend to wear my hair parted in the middle and I find that makes it look even more slimmer which I hate! So i've started to wear it to the side which helps a bit. I wonder if wearing darker/lighter shades gives a certain illusion? I don't think I would ever cut bangs, I don't think they would suit me.

Re: Tips for making face look round?
Oh and also I forgot to add-- I find that curling my hair adds "roundness" to my face which is why I curl it often. When my hair is straight it enhances my long face! I try to especially curl my bangs and get the hair off my face to give it more of a shape

Re: Tips for making face look round?
That is so interesting that you can even use contouring to make your face appear larger! Very cool-- thanks for the tips!

Next, get your lighter foundation and place that in the centre of the face, including the areas around the eyes, nose, lower forehead and upper lip.
Final Touch: Contour powder is to be applied with a makeup brush to the fullness of the forehead. Starting from the back of the bone, blend the powder into the area below the cheekbones and down the jaw line. Apply blush to the cheekbones, moving the brush forward.

Re: Tips for making face look round?
Cool tips, Melissa!
I never realized how long my face was until I showed a friend a picture of me and they jokingly said, "Why the long face?" Now i'm more self conscious. I agree with ya, Allie, curls do make the face seem fuller.

Re: Tips for making face look round?
yeah i agree curls does make your face look more round, i used to do my hair dead straight with a iron, but i realized it did nothing for my face, so i just blow it straight and add some body to it:icon_love

Re: Tips for making face look round?
Look at the pictures at the bottom of this page:
http://www.movingmakeup.co.uk/lessons.htm
Essentially, horizontal strokes of blush, etc., are going to create the illusion of more width to your face... Also some girls say that applying blush in a circular motion rather than sweeping it out toward the temples makes their face look a little rounder...
I also agree that the hair makes a difference! I have a kind of square or rectangle face with a jawline that is more square than the average girl, and chin length cuts and curly/wavy styles definitely make my face look wider -- but now my hair is barely past my shoulders and I've started flat ironing it and not only does my hair look better, it is more flattering to my face also!
