Soulmates??

What are your thoughts? Do you believe in Soulmates?? A friend and I had a conversation and we disagreed. She thinks there is one soulmate for everyone. I think you can have many over your lifetime.

Re: Soulmates??

I'm not sure - because people change on life, we grow, we change our points of view. That person who was your soulmate 5 years ago could be totally different from you right now .

I think that the moment that matters - and sometimes your soulmate grows along with you, so you still share the same loves, the same things that make you feel like that person is 'the one', so you end up having just 1 soulmate (because there's no need for another).

Re: Soulmates??

I don't believe in soulmates. I used to and maybe I'm cynical, but in my opinion if we want to make something work, we do and if we don't, we don't. Relationships take work, plain and simple and I DO believe some people are more compatible than others, but that's it!

Re: Soulmates??

Does a soul mate have to be a lover? What if my soulmate were my best friend, my child or my parent?
To be honest, I tend to hear teenagers tossing the term "soulmate" around. Can't recall the last time a married couple of 20 years calling each other soul mates.

Yeah I agree. I believe in soulmates but it doesnt necessarily have to be a partner.

Re: Soulmates??

My best friend and I have always said, for the past 25 years, that we are the perfect couple and if we are alone in 20 years we'll buy a condo and say the hell with it.

Re: Soulmates??

I think a soulmate doens't have to be a lover it could be anyone but i think there is one person out there that wil drive you crazy (in a good way) than any other...its kind of like the whole first love thing and how you will never get over them...ha i have!

Re: Soulmates??

I think you can have many soulmates over your life, people who fit your lifestyle, your emotional and physical needs at that particular time.

That being said, I also think that I personally would be/will be likely to choose just one soulmate who is able to grow and change with me over the course of my life. But if for whatever reason we no longer worked together, or he died or I died or whatever, then the other person will still be able to go out and find someone who is also their 'soulmate'

I don't like the thought of my future hubby being alone and never able to experience love ever again after I die, or vice versa.

Maybe there are levels of 'soulmate' connection, and the level of connection you have with different people is on a scale of 'not my soulmate at all' to 'my true soulmate'

Re: Soulmates??

I do believe in soul mates. However I do believe they can be your SO or someone other than your SO.

I just asked my wife and she said I was her soulmate and she is mine. We've been married 32 years. Just because you are soulmates doen't mean you don't have to work on your relationship. Can you have more than one, it is my guess that you can.
