Are there products that will actively lighten your skin? Like bleach it a little bit? I'm not trying to be pasty, it's just that I have some scars and the skin is flat but they're darker than my normal skin. I thought it might be faster or even more effective than Maderma and other scar creams.

first off, welcome to MUT!

secondly, i'm not sure if there's such thing as bleaching your skin, but if it is, it can't be good for your skin in the long run. if i were you, i'd just stick to the Maderma.

You can try lemon juice, it can work to lighten freckles may work on scar tissue.

Okay, this is super-asian... but the product eskinol is known to lighten skin. I used it when I was a kid & it worked a little bit.. but I tan superfast. Anyways, it might be worth a shot?

Rica-- Eskinol. That is super Filipino =). Hahah.

There is this thing in the Philippines called green papaya soap. I've used it before. Helped me a lot with my discoloration when I had a major bout of adult acne. Google it. You can buy it online.

try boots botanics skin brightening toner. It helped with my acne scars a lot. I don't know if it whitened my skin, but it did make it brighter/glowy. hth

Some forumals of eskinol have avocado, lemon, lime. =) Its a whole fruit salad.

i've had some luck using glycolic acid based products to even skintone.

there are a lot of old threads on acne scarring if you do a search. i haven't tried whitening creams, but i haved used microdermabrasion & glycolic peels. Epidermx is a popular product disturbuted by Goldport beauty, some members on here are fans of it.
