Expertise needed!!!

Hi everyone!!! i'm new to makeuptalk, i've been browsing for a couple of months now and this is soooooo much fun!!! i have a couple of questions to ask if you dont mind
-im going to finish my course of accutane in a couple of months (40mg a day for six months now). when i started the course I had no idea u were NOT supposed to use scrubs and microderm creams...well i used them for a couple of months...i admit it...my skin is scarred and red...so ive been using la prairie desensitizing line for redness and scarring...its been grrrrreat and advanced marine biology as my night cream for intense hydration...my question is (and i know this has been asked a gazillion times) how long after im done with my course of accutane can i have a chemical peel or glycolic peel or microderm? i am soooooooo tempted right now but i know i know ill regret it....
-has anyone used natura bisse's glyco extreme peel? does it differ from their regular peels?
oh and i just HAVE to recommend this!!! aquamatt invisible pressed powder from lancaster....this stuff is AMAZING!!!! after u put on ur skincare routine...wait five minutes apply this and walllah!!! pure MATT-ness!!!
anyways thanks sooo much u guys !!!!!

Re: Expertise needed!!!

When you have your last appt with your derm, ask him/her when it is ok to have a peel.
I think it depends on the quantity and duration of Accutane you are on, so you might get a variety of answers from us.

Welcome to MUT - hope I have helped

Re: Expertise needed!!!

I was on 80mg/day for 6 months. I would recommend not getting a peel until you feel the side effects fade away.

That might take a few weeks to a few months.

Be gentle with your skin while on accutane. Just keep it clean with a gentle facial cleanser like Cetaphil.

I didn't use any topical medications while I was on the drug because it just made my sensitive skin feel worse.
