Hi Ladies (and guys:) Question on aesthetics

So, I'm doing the airbrush makeup thing.....people haven't caught on to it, yet. It's big out in CA and in NY, but people hear "airbrush" and they think of T-shirts or custom cars. It's kind of frustrating, but then all the more reason to get out there and show them what it looks like.

I wanna go even a bit deeper and take classes on skin care. Microdermabrasion and chemical peels. I live in CO and for a cosmetology license, it takes 600 hours. But, I don't want to do the whole cosmetology area....just the skin care.

Where would I look into that? and also, who hires skin care people besides salons?

Thank you! and I hope everybody is doing great!!

Re: Hi Ladies (and guys:) Question on aesthetics

I have a friend who does electrolysis and trained on laser hair removal and microdermabrasion and she worked for a plastic surgeon's office. That could be something to investigate. Good luck!!!

Re: Hi Ladies (and guys:) Question on aesthetics

Thank you, RoxRae. I found one in Denver in searching for microdermabrasion and chemical peels, laser....it's Welcome to Advanced Medical Aesthetics Center, Denver Advanced Medical Aesthetics Center.

They have single classes in each area and some are 4 hours, some 14. I'm waiting to hear from them, but I'm wondering if the classes are only for those that are already in the skin care profession and this is a school that goes into specifics for them. ???????

Hopefully not, but will see......

Re: Hi Ladies (and guys:) Question on aesthetics

I'm still checking on this. There's a school really close to me that teaches medical aesthetics, but....again..ALOT of hours!

Hopefully, there will be a place that will hire students that are taking classes and then do on the job training (????)

They say it's the "fastest growing industry in cosmetology for the future" and as long as people wanting better skin, it'll be around.

Re: Hi Ladies (and guys:) Question on aesthetics

Yes, i think it would be awesome if you could find a course like half classes at school and half working on the field. I do'nt know if that exists for aesthetics though.
