Tanning bed broke?

So, a while ago I made the decision to not ever use tanning beds again in my life!
But, I had 3 sessions left on my card to this tanning salon that I randomly went to like 2 years ago. Since I already payed for it, I figured I might as well use up those 3 last times so I wonīt be this pale when I go to California in 2 weeks.

I was recommended to do 14min on the "standard bed", and yes I told the lady that itīs my first time tanning in a long time. The surface of the bed started to feel really hot after like 10min, but I didnīt think anything of it and just kinda layed sideways. Now a few hours later, I check myself out in the mirror, and my back, butt, and the back of my legs are RED. The front is completely fine though.

Now, do you guys thing the bed is broke or something? I mean, you can definitely see that only the areas that were touching the surface of the tanning bed are red! And I have actually never had a burn in the like 30 times Iīve been in a tanning bed in my life.
The salon isnīt cheap or anything, and all of their beds look pretty new. I wonder if I should go back and complain (and maybe save other customers from the same experience), but I think they will just tell me itīs a regular burn

You've been there before and I'm assuming this is the first time that's happened. I don't know what they would do if you complain, but I do think something is wrong with their beds, definitely.

They could have just replaced the lower bulbs and that could be why. Also, as everyone knows, the parts of your body that are the most fatty, burn the fastest. But I suspect the bulbs....and 14 mins is way too long for a beginner.

thatīs kind of what I was suspecting. I will go there and let them know what happened so they can be more careful when suggesting beds to people who havenīt tanned in a long time.

Re: Tanning bed broke?

Lol Karren ! Sun doesn't scare me, because i always carry my weapon in my purse when the sunnier days come back (my SPF50 spray bottle of sunscreen !)

but i never lie under the sun when i'm at the beach, i feel like a sausage burning on the grill so you bet i never entered a tanning salon in my life !

Re: Tanning bed broke?

If I dont do rotations in the tanning bed, my butt would burn. Now when I used to tan in a bed I would lay on my back for 2 songs and side for two songs....
