Whats the difference between something that can fill in wrinkles and pores??

Lately all I have noticed is all these new wrinkle treatments and fillers that are coming out, and its starting to annoy me lol since my big problem has been lare pores.... I tried a couple samples of wrinkle fillers but if anything they just make my pores look worse... So whats the difference? I dont get how it can fill in on thing and not the other... granted I know pores are deeper, but do wrinkle treatments have totally diff ingredients in?? Thanks.

the way i see it, you fill in wrinkles by adding some collagen. enlarged pores aren't a problem of skin elasticity, mostly it's a combination of Mother Nature's will and environmental causes like acne/oiliness. that's why i assume a wrinkle filler can only be effective on wrinkles.

I agree with what magosienne said, wrinkle treatment creams work because they use ingredients to moisturize, hydrate and "puff" up the skin, that has lost elasticity and collagen.
Pores become large due to dirt, oil & sweat. There is NO way to reduce the size! (This is something all women and men have to deal with) The best thing you can do, is to keep your pores clean. Wash regularly, exfoliate your skin and try not to touch your face too much through out the day.

Have you ever used a primer?

It might help reduce the appearance of large pores.
I have a small tube from Revlon called Age Defying Instant Firming Face Primer. I don't have any issues with large pores but the primer does help smooth my skin for better makeup application.

Re: Whats the difference between something that can fill in wrinkles and pores??

I've read that to help pores "appear" smaller you need to keep them clean by using an exfoliating agent such as salicylic acid that can clear pores from beneath the skin. I've also read that tretinion can also exfoliate pores and may even be able to strengthen pore walls and actually may make pores smaller, not just appear smaller. I've noticed a world of difference in my skin from using tretinion.

Re: Whats the difference between something that can fill in wrinkles and pores??

I keep my face very clean. I used to be on accutane and now I just keep my skin clean. Trust me if I went one day without washing my skin twice a day I would break out so its not the cleaning I have an issue with.

And dont get me started on primers haha :P I have dedicated half my life to primers, I have yet to find a really great one. It seems they all work for a while and then just stop working, its very frusterating.. I use Lise Watier and Pure Luxe which work decent.

As far as Smashbox goes... it was terrible for me, as well as clinique. I think in order to cover large pores you need something thick... And smashbox (Compared to lise waiter) wasnt thick at all... But ive kind of given up on primers haha.
