To wet or not to wet my foundations.

Hi girls !!!
I hope Im not boring you with my post.

but sometimes Im thinking about the brands that I can wet and the brand that I can't wet **the foundations of course**
I realized that some foundation like water and some not.

like Meow's foundations - the FF and the concealer don't like wet.

Lauress like water because when I use in the wet method its so great!

what do you think? can you give me some example for brands that I shuld wet or not?

hope you understand the post...

Re: to wet or not to wet my foundations.

Simi, I think you just need to go with what works FOR YOU. Every foundation is going to work differently for other people, and what works for you may not work for the next person. That's what is so great about MMU - there appears to be no "rules". You play with it until you figure out what works, and it's likely that you'll not ever be able to "duplicate" someone else's look or results.

You have so much experience with testing and sampling....just trust what you know, and don't worry about what works or doesn't for others!

LOL
i need to know why its not work for me..

I give you an example.
when I saw in the forum about Aubrey Nicole some girls wrote that the foundation is heavy.. when I tried it.. its was not heavy and not medium. its was light. and I didn't know why.. !

Re: To wet or not to wet my foundations.

Wow Simi, I found Aubrey Nicole kind of heavy on me. Maybe I'm heavier handed with application than most people - I think so.

I agree with you Simi that some foundations do better than others with a wet application.

It seems to me that the lighter in coverage that they are the better they look with wet application.

I've spent the last 12 hours or so washing my face and applying makeup over and over again using different methods.

Foundations that at least today didn't look so well applied wet were
Cory's
Joppa
Aubrey Nicole

I'm far from done but this is what I've found so far

Re: To wet or not to wet my foundations.

I've used both the wet and dry method for my minerals. When I've used wet, I mix the minerals with moisturizer. I've never mixed with water. For those that have mixed with moisturizer and water, which do you like better? I may have to try with water.

Thanks

Thanks....I am currently using the Lauress with Clinique's DDMG but was thinking of trying it with water/hydrosol. Maybe I'll stay with the DDMG for now. I like the way it looks.

Thanks again!

on conservatorie homepage, where the minerals are sold in bulk - there's 2 different TiO2: water- and oil dispersible.

Re: To wet or not to wet my foundations.

Mixing with moisturizer gives me a lighter look much like a tinted moisturizer. When I mix with water the finish is more like a liquid foundation.

Re: To wet or not to wet my foundations.

As for me using water with mm makes it to stay on my face whereas when I just use the MM straight on my face I feel like its not sticking enough on my face.

I also agree with stellaria, it depends on every individual as to their likings and also how the MM adheres to their skin type.
