Do ALL BE products contain bismuth oxychloride??
I am trying to decide what to do with my BE stuff, I will probably just return it if they allow me (I cannot find the receipt for the starter kit, only for the concealer). BUT I do like the concealer brush alot.
I am wondering though, do ALL the products contain the dreaded bismuth oxychloride. Like the concealer, summer bisque & the blush warmth.........do they contain it too?? |

I believe so. They use to have their ingredients on their site. I'm not sure if they do anymore.

Yay, I found my receipt!
I've been looking for my receipt for when I bought the BE starter kit & I couldn't find it......up until tonight. And I do have the receipt for the BE concealer I bought too. So that's like $90 I'm getting back!! Woo hoo! I'm getting some brushes & a travel case for brushes for sure!! I definitely like the concealer brush by BE & then I want a fan brush & I need a blush brush. And I need a case to put my brushes in for travel, so hopefully they'll have some of those at Ulta too.

Re: Do ALL BE products contain bismuth oxychloride??
Are the ingredients not listed on the bottom of the products. Just checked the BE face products that I gave my daughter. The foundation definitely has Bis. O, so did the Natural light combo, and blushes. Some only had the SPF Zinc Oxide listed. I am not sure about the eye colors but I am thinking that they have very little filler and are mostly mica. I am going to check QVC and BE sites for sure. I still wear the e/s but the face colors I gave away because of the Bis. O. making me itch.
Just checked QVC and looks like even the e/s shadows contain Bis. O. What I did notice is that in the eye shadow products, the amount is very low because it is listed after the iron oxides which are the coloring agents and seems like small amounts are needed if you check the making your own MMU thread. The foundation and many of the face products still seem to contain quite a bit. With it being in top 3 ingredients.

Re: Do ALL BE products contain bismuth oxychloride??
That bismuth oychloride is in so many products in so many lines. I'm allergic to it, too - can't use MAC, Px, BB, LM, TM, Lancome, Clinique and on and on and on. It's in eye shadows, face products, lipsticks, liner pencils, cake eyeliners. Between that and carmine, I'm pretty much screwed except for a very few number of mineral makeup companies. I don't think those are *bad* ingredients, but they sure don't work well for my skin at all.

Re: Do ALL BE products contain bismuth oxychloride??
None of the ID BE jars I have left (face colors, eye colors, brow color) have the ingredients listed on the bottom. I've had them for a while & I got most from the autoship. I wonder if auto ship jars packaged different fromjars from Ulta? There is no label on the jars I have, the info is printed in black right on the jars. I've had them for a while though, maybe packaging has changed.

Re: Do ALL BE products contain bismuth oxychloride??
face colors definitely do, wasn't sure about the e/s.
I just went through looking at the bottom label (you have to lift up the label to see the ingredients listed) of 5 random BE e/s (I have quite a lot more) and saw bismuth oxychloride listed as ingredients. so I guess all e/s must contain bismuth. I knew face colors had bismuth oxychloride, wasn't sure about the e/s. I just went through some of my BE e/s labels (you have to lift up the label to see the ingredients listed) and sure enough, bismuth oxychloride was listed as one of the ingredients. So I guess BE has bismuth on most if not all of their products. I haven't had any reaction from their e/s though, thank goodness! Last edited by tadzio79 : 04-19-2007 at 08:56 PM. Re: Do ALL BE products contain bismuth oxychloride??
I just looked again & I have a 10 G jar of "True" face color that has no ingredients listed on the jar. I can't remember if part of autoshipment or Ulta purchase. But I have had the jar for a while, maybe they changed the packaging.

Re: Do ALL BE products contain bismuth oxychloride??
QVC lists the ingredients for all the BE products... like I posted before, the foundation, bisques, blushes and AOFC have the most Bis. O. The e/s do contain it but it must be in very small amounts because it's listed after the iron oxides- after reading the make your own MMU thread, you'll see that the iron oxides are added in tiny quantities because they are potent coloring agents. I can't use the face products because of the itch but the e/s don't bother me at all (thank goodness because I love them- and have hundreds- that would really stink if I couldn't use them!) If you are totally allergic then BE is not for you. There are many brands online that don't contain Bis. O so all is not lost.
