EDM: Light vs. Golden Medium

Hey ladies!
I've finally decided to try out their sample kit. I'm NC30ish, and I'm torn between Light and Golden Medium. I figured I could get both. However, I think I could eliminate one of these shades if I knew the EXACT undertones. I would say my skin is yellow with a bit of peach [I'm able to wear a 50/50 mix of Naughty Manx/Chartreux in Meow]. So, I think that the Light would be better. Any suggestions?

Re: EDM: Light vs. Golden Medium

Hi, I've never tried the light one but I've tried the golden medium one, it matches my skin tone and I don't have any peach undertone whatsoever so I think light would match you better.

Doesn't the sample kit allow for 3 foundations? May as well try both.

Re: EDM: Light vs. Golden Medium

You should definitely check out their community forums on their home page. All you have to do is create an id and password. The ppl there have the best advice in mixing foundations and many post their pics and show what foundation they actually use to make it easier to determine your best color choice!!! They get into detail of what the actually undertone of the foundations are as well and how they made it work at it's best!!

Re: EDM: Light vs. Golden Medium

What color are the veins on the inside of your wrist?

If they're green, then you're considered "warm" toned.
Blue veins are considered "cool" toned.
If they're both green and blue, then you're considered "olive toned"

"Golden Medium" is actually in EDM's Olive section (olive-golden medium).
"Light" is in their golden section.

Re: EDM: Light vs. Golden Medium

although golden medium is in their olive section, it has very golden/yellowish undertones and it works well with my skin even though i'm technically categorized in the "golden" category.

Re: EDM: Light vs. Golden Medium

Well, I'm a NC20 and wear golden light, I'm not sure if that helps but it's worth a shot. There is also a thread where people compare their colors in various make up and mineral companies, you might see some one with NC30 there talking about what colors they use

I am nc30-35 and i use winged butter.. I think you can try Lt., Medium Golden, and Winged Butter
For references, i can use both N. Manx and N. Chartreux

Re: EDM: Light vs. Golden Medium

sis rhumbafrapp you mentioned we have a close skin match (although is still think yours is a step lighter) light was a good match for me... although i doubt it will ne yellow enough for you.. the shade is good though. with regards to edm golden medium i havent tried it though. EDM foundies like other minerals are quite forgiving so you need not worry

Re: EDM: Light vs. Golden Medium

It's a tough one as to which would be the best shade for you.

Winged butter is not peach at all
Light is yellow with some peach, but may not be dark enough for you .......?
Golden Medium is quite dark IMO, but may be worth a shot.

EM's shades are soooo hard to figure it. This is why I own 18 full sized EM foundations and I still cannot decide on the best shade for me. (I'm using Silk Naturals at the moment, as EM is doing my head in)

Yeah - sorry, have not meant to scare anyone. Woops. It's a tough challenge - I love EM's blushes, but am about to boycot the foundations. Plenty of people love them though!!

Re: EDM: Light vs. Golden Medium

Groovy One, I feel that way about their foundations as well.

I feel like their free samples are what gets you hooked like a addict getting a taste of the product for the first time and not being able to stop.

I have never seen a MMU company with so many shades of foundations that have no particular order of lightness to darkness or proper undertone classification. It's like there is no rhyme or reason.

I read their message forum daily and I've never seen so many ladies deal with such difficulty in finding their perfect shade. All their foundations change color by turning pink, or orange, and all turn darker.

Re: EDM: Light vs. Golden Medium

I don't agree about the foundations changing colour - they certainly dont on me and my friends who wear them.
The choice of shades is excellent - I think people can get too picky with MMU - when they would just settle for 'close enough' with regular foundation.

Re: EDM: Light vs. Golden Medium

yeah i agree with laurie lu. i've tried five sample kits and just ordered two more because there are so many choices i just HAVE to make sure golden medium is THE right one. lol. now i'm trying them in the different formulas and may hit the jackpot that way. argh, the frustration! lol.

Re: EDM: Light vs. Golden Medium

I agree with laurie lu regarding EM turning color. I found that after a few hours I looked either orange or way too golden. I tried numerous samples in various undertones and was unable to find something that looked good soon after as well as later in the day.

Re: EDM: Light vs. Golden Medium

how interesting, and for me edm's foundations seem a bit visible on the skin for the first 15 mins or so, afterwards noone would guess i'm wearing makeup, it sinks in sooo beautifully and naturally. maybe it's the original glo variant that's like that.

and for instance meow foundations are awesome, but they never really melt into the skin, which is good if you managed to find your exact tone (i did luckily), thank god they have a gazillion colors.

of the rest only erth foundations behave like edm's for me, sink right in. maybe you who are having problems with edm should give these a look, the website is called lushbrush i think.
