Everyday Minerals colours?

Today I got my second sample kit from EDM (together with the fabulous flattop=>thanks to the ones who talked me into ordering it! ), and while the colours were better than my last order, I'm still not satisfied.

My previous colours:
Warm medium beige (too much red)
warm medium beige summer (too red, too dark)
olive golden medium (better, but too yellow)

Now, I've figured out that I'm more neutral than yellow (but definitely not cool!), and I ordered the following colours:
foundation:Buff-Beige Neutral
foundation: Buff-Light Neutral
foundation: Beige-Light Medium

While these are much better, only the beige light medium is quite close. But I'm wondering: is the next shade up (medium beige neutral) much darker, because the shades look similar on my screen. Does anyone know?

Re: Everyday Minerals colours?

I find the color swatches on the new site are much more accurate than the old site.

It looks like beige-medium beige neutral is lighter than beige-light medium.

Re: Everyday Minerals colours?

I'm sorry that I can't help you with EDM colors, but it sounds like you may by in the same boat as me. I'm not yellow and not cool. I found out that I have peach undertones. I haven't found anything in EDM that works (but I have some of the goldens on the way because I'm not sure if they're super yellow or not). If neither cool nor warm or neutral works for you, there's peach too. I won't hijack the thread but just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.

On my screen the medium beige neutral looks a lot different more orangey maybe? Did you look at the foundation photo color guide?

Well the goldens about as yellow as edm foundations go, from what I've heard.

I have personally tried medium beige neutral in comparison to biege light and while it is darker than light, you may find that mixing them you'll get your perfect shade. I tested this with the matte formula which, bear in mind, are a bit lighter than intensive. Colors go slightly darker as you use heavier coverage.

The beiges made me very pale and I need more warmth so now I'm sticking with Olive Golden Medium in intensive.

Re: Everyday Minerals colours?

I'm not really sure why I'm bothering, because I'm not quite fond of the lasting power of EDM (Original Glo=>the only one that's possible for my dry skin), but somehow, I just can't relax until I find the perfect match.

Well, I also got the Plum Dust blush, and that is near-perfection for me. Maybe if I get around to ordering a full size of that, I'll order yet another sample set.

I definitely need neutral tones, though leaning towards warm/yellow instead of towards cool.

Re: Everyday Minerals colours?

I would've guessed the beige neutral for you based on what you said. This is really hard to find a match You might have to mix yourself if there's nothing in EDM that you like - or pick a different brand. I'm not sure there's an EDM color for me and I'm too lazy to mix I think. At least you found a blush

Re: Everyday Minerals colours?

I think Medium Beige Neutral is lighter than Light Medium
I use Golden Light and it seems that among 3 formulas matte, semi-matte and intensive, the matte one is the lightest and the intensive one is the darkest
u can mix those shades to get the right one ^__^

Re: Everyday Minerals colours?

I think the next tempting brand is uglogirl, but I've also ordered samples from Signature Minerals. I'm not really on the lookout, but who knows, I might find the perfect match?

(Until six months ago, I was satisfied with BE and GloMinerals, but after that, my interest in MMU has escalated, and my non-mineral foundations stand there collecting dust (which is just as well, since I have a tendency to prefer the most expensive stuff, while MMU is really affordable).

This morning, I applied the beige neutral, but in the end, my face ended up looking dirty, so I washed it off again.

Does it looking dirty mean that it's too dark? I'm in my infancy with learning about all of this, but that's what it seems like to me. And that'd explain why the light medium works better. Maybe you're just in between in these colors and can't quite get a match?

No, it wasn't too dark, but rather too brown, if that makes sense. I washed it all off and ended up applying another foundation instead. Well, the samples are free

Exactly I travel quite a lot, and it's always nice to have extra jars for stuff that you don't need that much of.

I also bought two eyeshadows, which were brilliant; Spin Cycle (light pinkish/champagne) and cypress (greyish with a hint of green). I put them on this morning, and they still stay put, 12 hours later.

Re: Everyday Minerals colours?

I haven't actually tried their eyeshadows but I need to. Good to know that they're worth trying.
