Foundation shade determination- help
waah ok. I'm so tired of having MMU foundations shipped at home to find out its the wrong color *cries* its just so frustrating
![]() I've tried mixing shades to no avail. I survive by using Lily Lolo medium neutral (which is light for me) and darken it with my tinted mineral veil. *cries* ![]() The skin tone categories just confuses me. I have opted to go for neutral shades in the past, but they go ashen on me. So pleaseeeee, help me find my foundation shade. I plan to order from Ocean Mist and Monave so i'll be thankful if you recommend shades from their brands. I am still on the important quest for my HG foundation! ![]() I've attached pics of my unmade up self (my hair is up to my colarbone now, btw). The first pic is show how I tan during summer (so orangey, I know). And the second one shows when I'm pale and don't get much sleep :P pic.jpg Thanks in advance! ![]()

Well, if you know what color you are in other foundations, then this thread might help: List your shades in MMU.

Re: Foundation shade determination- help
I know that some of the companies, will help you determine what foundations you can use if you email them a picture of yourself. I did that with AubreyNicole and that is how I learned I was neutral toned.
So try that. ![]()

Re: Foundation shade determination- help
I just bought mineral foundation samples from a Canadian company called Blusche Minerals I believe the owners are Filipino and according to the website they do ship to the Philippines, as well as other countries. If you look in the shipping information section it has info about shipping to your country. They have great customer service and if you contact Monica maybe she will be able to help pick a shade.
I have never tried mineral foundation before and with my first purchase found my shade through Blusche. I hope this helps! ![]() Last edited by Shelley : 02-05-2008 at 03:17 PM. |

Your tanned pic is like my normal color I used BE Medium Tan before but my shade was not correct because I looked ashy with it. BE doesn't have a lot of yellows. Now I use Monave Canela. I also found a great shade in Ocean Mist Praline or Praline+Almond (50-50 ratio). I think for your 2nd picture, you can use Ocean Mist Almond alone or mixed with Sandstone. ![]() |

Re: Foundation shade determination- help
There is the option of having two foundations -- one for summer, and one for winter.

Re: Foundation shade determination- help
I'll bet you'll like the Monave line. I ordered samples and found that this makeup line is heavily weighted toward individuals with olive complexions. The shades were much too yellow, or too orange, for me, but, looking at your first picture, I think you'll find just the right match in this line. It's an excellent line, and it covers well, but I just wish they carried more colors for those with pink undertones. However, it was worth getting the samples, for I was finally able to discover what doesn't look good on me. I'm still looking. It may take a few tries for you, too, to find the right shade; but, once you do, you'll love it.

Re: Foundation shade determination- help
Good luck in finding your shade. I was quite lucky in that I found mine pretty quickly.
