Have you heard of it?

i just discovered L'oréal was making its own mineral foundation. here's what it looks like.

there's five shades (doesn't seem enough for me). the names are in french because i didn't find anything on the US website :
D1 Ivoire Doré
N3 Beige Crème
D4 Beige Doré
D5 Sable Doré
N6 Beige Café

here's the ingredients :

Zinc Oxide, Talc, Boron Nitride, Dimethicone, Carnauba Wax, Cetyl Dimethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Triisocetyl Citrate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf JuiceLeafTocopherol, Panthenol +/- (CI 77163/Bismuth Oxychloride, CI 77891/Titanium Dioxide, CI 77491/CI 77492/CI 77499/Iron Oxides).

this looks good but i read bad bad reviews on a french review website(here's the link), and looking at the ingredients, though i'm far from an expert in mineral makeup, i find the presence of silicone curious for a "natural" product.

the price is 19€ (25 US $) for 10g.

what do you think?

Re: Have you heard of it?

Hi. I've seen this in the local drugstores around here and at Walmart. Actually from reviews that I've read I'd say that some really love it but of course some don't.
The good thing about purchasing something local is you can always return it if it's not good for you.

I've seen it in pretty much all the drugstores here. I'll stick with my BE.

Re: Have you heard of it?

I think this is good brand especially to introduce people to mineral foundations. I wish they had this when I was in High School and college. It's less than half the price of BE and has less BO in it (I'm guessing from the ingredient list posted above).

I don't know how it works though.

I don't see anything wrong with those ingredients, they are pretty typical of a lot of TRADITIONAL makeup. The problem is this is just that! Traditional makeup with the MINERAL label tacked on for $$$$

from the price of $25 USD, it doesn't look like half the price of BE. it's the same price if i'm correct.

if you have sensitive or skin prone to irritation, this might cause irritations. BE irritated mine so i'm staying away from anything that have it.

i still think it's a good idea to get people to see what's available other than liquid and pressed makeup.

Re: Have you heard of it?

yup, i think that's a good intro, and apparently you can have a good coverage, but i don't think i'll try it, mostly because my l'oreal stuff broke me out severely.

Re: Have you heard of it?

It looks like the French version of Bare Naturale, which you can get in the US and Canada. It's definitely not all natural, though. It's a step up from traditional liquid and powder makeup, but I really wouldn't consider it mineral makeup because of all the additives. And I don't buy from L'Oreal so I can't tell you how good it is, but I remember a couple people on this forum used it and liked it.

There's some reviews of it on this site:
MakeupAlley - Product Reviews: Powder L'Oreal Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation

Re: Have you heard of it?

This product was my first try with mineral makeup. It has super coverage!! The only problem is that it is NOT all natural. If you are wanting powder foundation/mineral makeup for the "pure minerals", this is not it. If you want something with superior coverage without the liquid mess, this is great.

I've stopped using it. I wanted the all natural "real" minerals. I am hoping it will help my minor acne breakouts. I will say since I started wearing ALL NATURAL minerals about 3 weeks ago, my face seems to be better.
