Exclamation I found my HG mmu, yay! but...

I've been using Everyday Minerals for over 6 months and although I love their semi-matte formula but I've yet to find any shades that match with my skin tone perfectly. Anyway, so I've been ordering samples from random MMU companies and I pulled out a few baggies I got from Lumiere today. I picked up the one in "Light Neutral" and did a quick swatch on my arm and guess what, it melts right into my skin, amazing! Then I applied it on my face and it looked as though I have no makeup on & that I have natural flawless skin, but of course I do since I've been breaking out lately and I got ton of blemish marks here and there. However, I checked their ingredient list and found that they contain 7 ingredients as opposed to Everyday Minerals, which is only 4. Does it mean that Lumiere would have a shorter shelf life than other mmu? I'm hesitate to order the full size from Lumiere but gosh, it's such a perfect match for my skin.

What should I do ladies?

The amount of ingredients has nothing to do with the shelf life (mineral foundation doesn't expire--as long as you keep it dry it will last "forever"), so buy the one that suits you best.

Try using up your sample first to see if you don't breakout from Lumiere's formula before buying the full size.

I had the same problem with Lumiere, too. It matches me perfect but kept breaking me out. I was so disappointed. What ingredient in it was making me breakout, I wonder..

Ditto with me, it was great and I was absolutely loving it in the beginning but after awhile I started breaking out too...I was devastated cuz I really loved the finish and coverage not to mention that the Light Neutral was a pretty darn good match but so was the Light Golden...in the VV formula. For some reason the new formula Luminess or luminesce (something like that, can't remember..it's been awhile since I've been here) had darker shades than the other formulas...weird. Anyways, after a little research I found that the VV formula contained an "oat" ingredient that seemed to be the factor in the break outs for some girls including me...so that's probably it, the oat thingy. If you like the creaminess of Lumiere, I'd say try Monave...I'm addicted to it. I first tried it a couple of months ago and I've not touched anything else since...I have like 2 tons of samples that I haven't even sampled cuz I'm so sure that Monave is my HG forever...I'm that confident that nothing else could compare...but that's probably cuz I've done my share of sampling...

Re: I found my HG mmu, yay! but...

hi sunny! the one i tried was the luminesse formula. i've been using the sample for a week now and so it didn't break me out
i've been tempted to try monave too since there's a coupon code plus i heard that it has the best staying power out of all the mmu brands. do you use light neutral from lumiere? what do you think would be the closest match for me if i order from monave? i don't feel like getting the samples since the shipping is quite expensive.

I'm using Kerrie from Monave...it's a pretty good match for me, but I've heard from some Asian girls that it's either too light for them or not enough yellow...but I find that it's just enough yellow and I'm pretty light so it works well for me. Although now that it's summertime I found that I have to mix a little bit of a darker shade like 4:1 and I'm using BE Light as the darker shade. hope that helps...and the Glisten is pretty awesome from Monave too...but I still LOVE the Meow's glow powder....not sure how you feel about glow so that's another topic...

thanks! that really help. well i just went to their website and i'm torn between kerrie and claire. lol...i have both pinkish and a little bit of yellow undertone so i don't know which one would be a closer match.
i like glow too. i've been using "flash glow" from MAD minerals and love it.

glad u find your HG! if ur afraid u can make your own mmu we have a thread just for that !i m planning on making mine

sometims i wonder if their ingredient lists tell the whole truth. u never know if they add more than what they tel u in th elist just to make it glide on better and provide better coverage
