How 'bout them Cowboys?!

I was ORANGE!!!! *gasp*
Today I put my MMU on (BE to be specific) and ran some errands. Later I took my daughter to her dad and as I waited for him I looked in my rear view mirrow and *gasp* I was orange!! Freaking orange!! First of all this is NOT a good look for meeting the ex. For anyone who doesn't know, you're supposed to be kick a$$ hot when you meet with the ex so that he can kick himself for letting you go...but more importantly I was freaking orange!
What happened here? I've never looked orange in BE before and my application wasn't any different than it usually is. I'm buying new light bulbs for my bathroom tomorrow if not tonight. But I swear I didn't look orange when I walked out of my bathroom. ![]() Anyone ever had their MMU change on them??

Maybe it was oxidation? I know some girls here can tell you more about it

Yep, I've heard of this happening to other people before. It doesn't start out orange but it turns orange-y later.

Re: I was ORANGE!!!! *gasp*
Some minerals turn darker or orange when they mix with your facial oils, but I don't know why this would have been the first time it happened!

Re: I was ORANGE!!!! *gasp*
Did you use a different moisturizer or primer? How long have you had the jar? I've seen a post somewhere where someone pulled out a sample they had had for a while & the color had changed. Very strange indeed.

Ooh. I'm sorry this happened. I hated BE; it made me itchy and orange. EDM, however, is fabulous for me.

Re: I was ORANGE!!!! *gasp*
Thanks ladies for the input, I appreciate it. Luckily I looked hot enough from the neck down that I don't think he even noticed!
![]() As for the shade it was Light 2.0. It was 103 outside today, SUPER HOT, so maybe the fact that I was about to combust played a role. In retrospect, there was one thing that was different with application. I put on moisturizer and then primer but my face was still dry on my chin so I added more moisturizer and then primer again. Made me orange? I don't know. I'm pretty certain I wasn't orange when I left home though. But maybe that and the outrageous heat caused me to turn orange. It wasn't an old container. I bought it in June. Maybe it's just BE turning on me, ya think it's possible. I guess so if aplsmash and citre have heard of it happening before. Needless to say I will be using my Aubrey Nicole on tomorrow. I didn't buy my new lightbulbs yet, I fell asleep before 9:00, first time all summer and I just woke up a few minutes ago. Quite refreshing. Anyways, I'll let you know how it goes. But if anyone can tell me about oxidation and makeup or if this has everhappened to them before I'd appreciate it.

Re: I was ORANGE!!!! *gasp*
I once applied more moisturizer than normal & it made my makeup sort of weird. Not orange, but weird & it did darken/oxidize. Maybe adding more of your moisturizer & primer than usual made it change? Sometimes more sweat in summer might add extra moisture too & make it do weird things. Maybe you can try it again w/ usual amounts of moisturizer & see if it still turns on you? Hopefully no one else noticed it but you.

Re: I was ORANGE!!!! *gasp*
Thanks Lisa, I'll try it again but not tomorrow. I've got too much running around to do and I'm getting my hair done at 5:30 and I don't want to risk it. I'll try it on Thursday and let you know.
I only went to Dillard's and Dick's today and when I went to Dillard's I entered the store directly versus the mall entrance, so not many people saw me. If anything the ladies at Dillard's noticed, but I doubt the guys at Dick's did...at least I hope they didn't. ![]()

Re: I was ORANGE!!!! *gasp*
Oh I don't blame you to wait & try when you're not out & about, lest there be reports of sightings of the Great Pumpkin! I suspect the additional oils in the extra moisture & primer you applied caused the makeup to oxidize.

100%!!!!! And that's one of the reasons why I had to stop using it (and one of the reasons that helped me find this board!). BE not only caused me to itch like the dickens, but it also would gradually turn orange/yellow on me. I looked jaundiced and thought I was going buggy because I looked perfectly normal when I first applied it. But as the day wore on I would get itchy and then notice that my skin looked "pumpkinish."I then did a search to see if anyone else had that problem and ran across this board - See something good does sometimes come out of bad. I then returned all of my BE to Sephora (I still had my receipt so I got my money back) and purchased EDM. I then went on to try out other mineral makeup which led me to become the MMU junkie that I am today! ![]() ![]() ![]() Also, I've experienced that the oil in my skin would cause the color to get yellow! So, that explained (to me) why it would change color as the day wore on - just in case you maybe wanted my theory Also, when you use moisturizer that can also alter the coverage and the color. Just my 2cents.CooCoo ![]()
