LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades

My Lauress YELLOW samples arrived this week (Radiant, Soft and Pure) and I am thrilled that these work on me, much better than Radiant/Soft Golds... which looked a bit too 'olive' on me last time I wore them.

The Radiant and Soft Yellows are quite similar in depth and I think Soft Yellow is a better match.

Has anyone else (besides Periwinkle) ordered the Elemental Yellow shades?

I am still making my mind up on whether Lauress is HG material ... but so far, I love that it doesn't feel thick, dry or heavy and it's neither too sheer nor too opaque. It feels just about right. Only thing I am not yet sure about is the staying power, and if the coverage will wear off, or if my face will go shiny or feel sticky/oily later on in the day.

Any experiences you'd like to share?

P.S. I am NOT buying full sizes of LaurEss or anything for at least the next 2 months.

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades

oh no!! i want to try the yellow shades now. i just received my full size of the radiant gold and i thought that's a great match. however, the soft gold also works great for me. therefore, hmmm...i should try the yellow.

thanks for the post. *starts debating*

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades

I'm on the verge of declaring Lauress my HG. The only downside is Lauress doesn't have the staying power of Oceanmist. But if you apply minerals wet, which i Have been, it stays all day. It's also a bit expensive, which is what is holding me back.

Gotta agree about the price and the staying power if applied wet. It's a bit pricey but I love the feel of it. It lasts all day if I apply it wet (this is even after I work out at the gym). I applied it dry the first few times I had it and it was okay, but nothing compared to how it looked when I applied it wet.

Unfortunately price is a big selling factor for me and I'm sure a lot of women trying to find their "it" foundation.

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades

The price was a big factor for me also, until I found out that Lauren is using 10g jars for her Elemental foundation, not the usual 8g jars we get with other brands. You're paying $22 for a 10g pot of foundation that is HG material (for me), so I really don't feel it's exorbitant. In any event, you can also grab her original foundations for only $13 per 8g jar and I think that is already a great price.

Lilita- I agree, LaurEss feels SO light. It is the lightest and most velvety MMU I've ever tried. I always run my knuckles along my jawline and I'm amazed that it doesn't have the usual drag that MMU without the bismuth ingredient has. It is as light (or even lighter) than Meow's Pampered Puss foundation, so I was pretty sure you were gonna like the feel and finish of LaurEss. I prefer a mix of Delicate Yellow and Creamy Yellow in the original formula, and like you I wear Soft Gold (or Radiant Gold) in the Elemental.

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades

I absolutely love Lauress! I'll take it in Gold Yellow however I can get it! Thing is.........I'd rather get it on sale. It's just a wee bit pricier than others and you get not quite as much as you do with some but it sure is excellent! I'm so in love with this foundation and the way that it looks on. There are a lot of good ones out there but something about this Elemental is special. It does last perfectly on me all day.

Hi Peri
I love Elemental! Is the finish of the original similar?

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades

Hi NYL! I actually prefer the original over elemental because I have oily skin and I need a more matte coverage. Original is more matte than elemental, and I think has a slightly heavier coverage. But the Elemental is better than many MMUs I've tried so I'm definitely getting some full sizes as well, especially during fall and winter when I don't get too oily.

Thank you Peri! Because this has been "worrying" me that the original would be out of my yellow match and I would miss out but I needed to know whether to buy several first - if it was worth it or not. Thank you for the rec and BRB!

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades

Hi Peri -
Seeing that you have both formulas, would you say that the yellows are exactly the same across the formulas? It's so tempting to buy a f/s of the original because the price is so much better. But I also have a lot of resistance because I have never tried it (what if it doesn't work for me? Or what if it's so similar to Meow anyway?) OR... what if I need another shade in summer and they are out of stock/ totally discontinued etc etc?

Just talkin' to myself. I don't expect you to answer these questions

Since I am doing swatches for Susan (Ruby2) tonight of Pampered and Flawless Chartreux in Meow, I think I can do some swatches of the yellows in the Original and Elemental formulas as well. I just don't know if it's gonna register on the screen as well as your reknowned MMU Chart, but I'll give it a try!

If you look at the Original and the Elemental formulas in the pot side by side do they look pretty much the same in color?

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades

thanks, Peri! I trust you to look at the swatches to see if there is a significant color difference...( if it's too much trouble to scan/photograph, that is)

LadyTee - Often, the color of the powder doesn't look anything like how it looks on paper or skin.
