Is it me or is this odd?

My stepdaughter is the one who got me into MMU. She works at a salon & I guess a rep for BE came into her salon to demo it on people & she tried it out & loved it.

So after she had been using it for several weeks I decided to give it a try. I went to Ulta & found that Light was my color. So I was wearing it for several weeks, but then found it was giving me bad cystic acne, so I've stopped using it. But then I was putting my stepdaughter's laundry in her room & saw her BE sitting out & noticed that it was also Light.

Now I am a very fair caucasian, but my stepdaughter is a very olive toned hispanic. Is it me or is she wearing the wrong color??

It can work for her. Mineral foundation doesn't completely cover the skin the same way regular foundation does.

Re: Is it me or is this odd?

lol i was ready for you to be like why the hell is this happening to me and not her?!?!? but you know what ive noticed with mmu. one color can suit more people opposed to liquid foundation. like tonight my mom wanted some of my make up but she's darker than me. i just bought milani mmu and its a perfect color for me. i thought it would be really white on her. but it was just as good on her is it was on me. granted if she layered on like 8 layers it might be too light.

Re: Is it me or is this odd?

MMU is more forgiving than regular makeup because it is more sheer. It also seems like the undertones are more important than the actual light/dark factor. I wore BE for a long time and found that there wasn't a darker version of light. Med. Beige was supposed to be golden undertones but it wasn't like light. When I got tan, I would mix Light with the Tan which seems more golden than Med. Tan.

Re: Is it me or is this odd?

Well, BE only comes in a limited number of colors, so maybe somehow it just works across a greater range of skin tones.

I agree 1 color suits more & that the undertones seem to make or break a good match. I had a hard time finding a good color match easily in traditional makeup.

Re: Is it me or is this odd?

I was using some self tanner and my normal mmu looks better now than it did before the self tanner so I do believe its the undertones or something strange but true

Re: Is it me or is this odd?

It sounds as if she should use a darker color, but as others have mentioned, BE is forgiving, color-wise. One of the things I like about BE is that they don't have dozens of shades. I think most people fall into broad categories, and shouldn't drive themselves crazy trying to find an exact match.

Re: Is it me or is this odd?

I have many different foundation colors from as many companies and they all work well once I put them on. Some of them look very dark in the container, but work well once applied. I thought it odd myself and am glad that you mentioned this. I find that you can go one shade lighter and one shade darker in additon to using neutral in your color range and still get a great look. I thought it was me too!

Yep! As always, Hoozey, great info!

I started off with Sleek Himalayan from Meow, and then started using a self-tanner, and was afraid I'd have to buy a whole new shade, but nope! Still lookin' natural!

Yay! for MMU! Lol.
