I've been using EDM (intensive and semi-matte) for quite a while now. Although I absolutely adore the flawless finish but yet I'm not very satisfied with the staying power, even along w/ using the pure silk dust. The thing is, I have combo skin and it tends to get oily on my t-zone. And as the temperature is starting to rise I'm afraid that my MMU will be melting within a few hours (especially during the summer ). I really don't want to go back to my Revlon colorstay in the summer since that stuff feels extremely heavy when it's on and it's a pain to remove it. So any recommendation?

EDM is pretty notorious on MUT for not being one of the best when it comes to "staying power". From my experience Lumiere, OceanMist and even BE are pretty good in terms of lasting all day. I've heard that Monave, J.Lynne, Valerie and Meow are also very good. HTH, good luck!! and please don't even think about going back to your Revlon guck...I'm sure you'll find your HG and won't need to!!

I've tried Monave, Jane Iredale, Meow, La Bella Donna, EDM, Milan Minerals, Ocean Mist & Valerie and the hands down winner is Monave. I have combo/oily-dry(seasonal) skin and your application technique can dictate this. IE primer?, finishing powder?

EDM actually stays pretty nicely on my face. In my opinion, EDM, urban decay, Lumiere, Valerie Beauty and Ocean mist all have excellent staying power.
Are you using a primer with our MMU? If not, I STRONGLY recommend buying a good one. Smashbox photofinish is expensive but 100% worth the cost in my opinion, I have tried several other primers but keep coming back to this one!

I SO agree. I have tried 10 MMU brands and nothing comes close to Monave's staying power. You don't even have to apply it damp to have great coverage and staying power. It lasts a whopping 12-14 hours on me without touch-ups, an occasional oil blotting sheet is all I need (but then again I have an oily t-zone). Monave IMO is the undisputed king (or queen) of MMU staying power. I also recommend a primer. I use the Pure Luxe cream eraser and it works great on me.

thanks everyone for the great tips. i think i'll try to order the sample kit from lumiere and monave and see which one works better for me.

@Thais, i use RMK's creamy makeup base. never try Smashbox but been hearing lots of great reviews on it. maybe i'll try it next

wow. Ditto on what you said. I've been using EDM but it seems to melt right off me from my oily skin even with blotting & primers. I've been eyeing Monave for their liquid mineral foundations, but now I may take the plunge!

oh boy, I have extremely oily skin, perhaps EDM won't be for me........bare minerals lasted great on me though.........hopefully I can find one that lasts.......

Out of all the MMU products I've tried the best combo I've found is:

1st - Moisturize (of course, let it soak in for a few minutes)
2nd - Pure Luxe Eraser (just a little bit on big pore areas)
3rd - Aubrey Nicole Rice Powder Finishing Powder
4th - Lumiere FF foundation
5th - Aubrey Nicole Beige Glow Finishing Powder

It's a few steps but it's worth it to me for the end result.

I can't describe how oily my face is. This combo of products has proved to be very good on oil control. Before MMU it would take about 30 minutes after my liquid makeup was on for my face to get totally shiney and my makeup to start collecting on areas of my face.
