MMU Questions
I ordered some BE stuff after I tried some of that Loreal Mineral makeup. I really loved it and love the way it looks and feels. Ever since I have been coming here I have heard so much about Mineral Makeup that I never knew. Like Bismuth, I never knew people got reactions from it. I never did. So I am really curious about getting some new MMU. Here are my questions:
1) What is the most inexpensive yet effective MMU out there? I like a full coverage foundation. 2) Are the blushes good? 3) Samples, how many uses do you normally get? 4) Do they all come in baggies that you have to repack? That is one reason I like BE, they all come boxed and packaged with sifters, etc. 5) Please add any other helpful info that you can. One last question. Do you all still use other products that are not all natural? I know I have a few HG items that are not mineral that I can not and will not give up. Like liner, gloss, etc. |

Re: MMU Questions
1. For full coverage, Every Day Minerals' Intensive foundation is very good. There are lots of other foundations out there that have "buildable" coverage...you can achieve heavier coverage just by layering the product. Brands that I personally like include Alima, Lumiere, Ocean Mist, J. Lynne, and Aubrey Nicole.
2. I think that the blushes can be hit or miss. Every company formulates their blushes a little differently so you can either wind up with too sheer of a coverage, too heavy of a coverage, or sometimes just right coverage. Certain blushes are matte and others have shimmer built into them. My personal favorite blush is Alima blush in Apple Blossom. It is very natural and it is very easily to build coverage so you achieve the look you are going for whether it is more sheer or more intense. 3. Samples usually provide at least several days to a week or more of coverage...it can really vary by company, by formulation of product, and by what kind of coverage you prefer. It seems that all of the companies give fairly good descriptions of the number of applications you can expect to get from their samples. Some companies do package in baggies but it seems that the majority of them do package samples in small jars without sifters. There are some companies that offer free sample kits where you only pay shipping and handling. Companies to check out for generous sample kits include Ocean Mist, Every Day Minerals, and Alima. I personally am trying to stay with an all-natural routine as far as makeup is concerned. I never wear mascara so that's not an issue for me. I have gel eyeliners from different companies that I plan to use in the near future and have mineral powder eyeliners from other companies which I plan to try as well by using a wet lining method of application. I use mineral lip products. I originally started with Pure Shine Lip Gloss by Aromaleigh but have since switched over to Lumi Lips by Lumiere (great packaging and 28 different colors). There are also other really nice glosses by J. Lynne, Monave, and Alima. I know there are LOTS of women here on the board that still have HG items that are not all-natural that they will not give up, particularly mascaras, eyeliners, and some lipsticks. Hope this helps! |
