Plz help with smokey look for hooded eyes

I have watched many You tube videos & have tried to read a lot on doing the smokey eyes & I just can't achieve it. I think a lot has to do with my having hooded eyes. (I also wear glasses.) I have learned, for me, that with hooded eyes, placing dark ES in the crease only emphasizes my hooded eyes so I am thinking that plays a role in it too. A medium shade on the brow bone (about 1/2" below my eyebrows) to just above the crease really helps to play down the "hoodiness". You gurlz are so knowledgeable I am hoping you can help me. I am sure I am what you would consider a novice at applying ES. I only wore normally 2 shades at a time maybe a few times a year prior to discovering MMU. Now I wear MMU everyday.

If it helps any, I have almost all of the EDM ES.

Re: Plz help with smokey look for hooded eyes

Emmy, thank you for the very kind reply. After I discovered MMU, I love wearing MU everyday. I hated the feel of liquid MU-so heavy to me - so didn't wear it a lot. I am sampling many MMU, looking now for the ES & blush that works best with my skin. I first fell in love with EDM but now that I have tried Alima foundation it works better for me. Not sure about any of the ES I have tried yet, haven't really found one that really made me go WOW!

Great suggestion on utilizing You tube - thanks!

Hi Mgurl..no worries and your welcome...I got help and advices here when I was lost in MM. True that this MM gives good coverage and I am still into sampling the best one for me. I have very sweaty face and no makeup can stay put. This mineral foundies atleast dun melt and gets lost..it stays there.. Problem is findn the right shade and formulae and of cos the breakouts. You shld try Fyrinnae, Lauress, dreamworld E/S..they are lovely too. Alima foundie didnt work quite well for me..it melted away with the heat in my country and made me itched.
Good luck in your exploration with MM.

I have hooded eyes also. I find extending our crease color just above and below the crease can help give definition.

Re: Plz help with smokey look for hooded eyes

I have small and deep set eyes myself, and do not do much colour over the crease at all in my daylie smokey eye, but consentreate the darkest dark on waterline and bottom lash line. Like this. I have made a link to a thread with images of smokey, but put up one here as well.

Hooded eyes is when the excess eyelid skin hangs over and you don't see the actual upper eyelid. The crease and the lash line become one space.

I also have hooded eyes, so I won't be able to help you there.
Sorry.
