Pure Luxe finishing powders

Hi everyone!

I need help choosing a finishing powder.

I have a normal to oily skin (my nose is the oily part). My foundation gives me a matte look and I'm interesting to add a little liveliness to my face.

(I'm using Everyday Minerals Intensive foundation which I love so I'm not interesting in another foundation).

Has any of you tried one of this powders: You Glow Girl!, Aprils Mix, (warm) Radiance? You can find them here (scroll down a little). Which one of these do you think will be better?

Plus, do you think it's better to mix a little of the powder with the foundation (I mix my minerals with a moisturizer) or apply it over my foundation (maybe only on certain parts of my face)?

ETA: I was also looking at Signature Minerals' Soft Radiance finishing veil . What do you think about it?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Re: Pure Luxe finishing powders

I'd just order samples of both and see which you like. When it comes to finishing powder I usually get ones that have a bit of pink and use them all over my face, over my foundation. BUT I never get ones with shimmer, I personally wouldn't put the shimmer ones all over my face just cause I don't look good all shimmery. If I did use a shimmer powder I'd just use in on my cheeks.

Thanks for the advice, applying only on the cheeks does sound better.

Re: Pure Luxe finishing powders

Although you asked about finishing powders you may want to read the Glow -Illuminizer thread. It has a great list of various companies' illuminizers, some of which have little to no shimmer so it could give you the "liveliness" you are looking for. I have followed some of the recommendations in that thread and been very pleased. The key is extremely light application to avoid any obvious frosty, sparkly look and choosing a product with barely a hint of glow. I have a sallow, yellow complexion that can tend to look dull and these products can give me a little pick me up without looking obvious.

Thank you very much for the suggestion, I'll check the thread

Do you have any specific recommendations?

Re: Pure Luxe finishing powders

My favs are The J.Lynne illuminizers and Lumiere's. Samples from both companies are very reasonable so try as many as appeal to you after reading the descriptions on their sites. This is off the subject but if you order from J.Lynne try the GlossFx samples too
(since shipping is $6, make it worth your while. I can't remember if they have a cheaper shipping rate if you are just ordering sample baggies. The glosses come in a nice clear plastic container which cannot simply be put in an envelope like baggies can be). I have loved every single one of the colors they make.
Hoozey did a great job in the Glow-illuminzer thread of describing her experiences with so many different brands.

Thank you! Are they shimmery or give more subtle glow?
