Question for the fair/light peach undertoned girls out there!
So I recently discovered that I'm not as cool undertoned as I thought I was. I have blue eyes, blond hair and fair/light skin and most warm/yellow foundation is way too yellow on me so I assumed that I had cool undertones. Not true. I'm actually warm and have peach undertones. Who would've known? From reading posts I've learned that this has happened to some others of you out there.
I'm wondering what you do when there's no specific peach category? I usually find warm foundations to be too yellow but I'm not as cool either. Would that make neutrals better for me? I know that meow has lots of categories so my next step is to try them but any suggestions in the interim? |

I'm in the same boat as you. Sometimes I can get away with yellow toned foundations, but not often. I have not found an absolute perfect match yet, however, MAC's loose mineral foundation in light is suiting me just fine. =)

I've had the same problem too. Yellow toned foundation looks horrible on me. So I'm searching for the right match too.

Re: Question for the fair/light peach undertoned girls out there!
I've been lurking for a while, and just registered so I could reply to this post. I didn't know how yellow my liquid foundation was until I started sampling MMU! My best match turned out to be Meow's Frisky Chartreux, which has more peach tones. Now I have to reexamine my blush choices, since I just noticed that EDM's Girls' Day, which had been my favorite, actually looks on the orange side now that I've changed foundation colors. Ack.
Edited to say that Jen on Meow's Cat Chat forum is really helpful in choosing foundation shades, particularly if you send her a photo of yourself in daylight. Last edited by Mamabear : 05-03-2008 at 07:44 AM. Reason: Forgot to say something |

you could order a few samples of meow, and maybe check out neutral foundations too.

I'd suggest Meow and Dreamworld. I think they've got some of the larger ranges of different undertones in their foundations.

Thanks all, glad to see that I'm not the only one having this problem. Undertones are complicated! It's not just yellow or pink. I have some meow samples on the way.

Re: Question for the fair/light peach undertoned girls out there!
Hi,i have the exactly same problem and your skintone sounds similar to mine.
Im sooo tired of searching for a match. Just recently i figured out a mix that looks very good on me. The neutrals i have tried until now did not look good on me. They seemed to make my face look either gray or dirty (or something). |

I found a wonderful mineral foundation at Signature Minerals. I mix two parts Ivory to one part Light. The pink undertone in Ivory is not very strong. It comes out just a tiny tad too dark for me,but they recently came out with a new shade called Porcelaine. I have already ordered it,it will be useful to correct my mix.
And i really love their foundation,it is very finely milled and looks very natural. It does`nt emphasize pores or fine lines as other mmu foundations often does, and thats a big thing to me. I dont want my makeup to make me look older than i am.... |

Re: Question for the fair/light peach undertoned girls out there!
I also have neutral undertones (actually, I think I might have a light olive hint as well), and I find that the Natural section of GloMinerals suit me pretty well. At the moment, I'm wearing Natural Medium in the Gloloose base, although I'm a Honey Light in the GloPressed. With Bare Minerals, I mix 50/50 Medium Beige (=neutral) and Medium Tan (=cool).
Most of the time, truly yellow-toned foundations are OTT for me, and make me look sallow and washed out. Yet, cool-toned foundations most of the time appear ashy on my skin. Apart from the two mentioned brands, I haven't had good luck, but I've made my second order of samples from EDM. I also tried Lumiere, where I at first thought the Light Medium Golden was a good match, but upon second thoughts, I found that too yellow. ![]() |

Re: Question for the fair/light peach undertoned girls out there!
I also have fair/light peachy undertones and I ussually go with a neutral/warm mix if a company doesn't have peach undertone. Other trick I do somethimes is use a neutral foundation and use a warm tone finishing power over it.
I like everyday minerals for color match, their beige tone line seem to be a good match to me. Meow also have good selection in different tone, but I find their foundation color so far from the pictures on the website, so it is a big guessing to order from them. Lotus minerals has a foundation called "peach and cream" for really peach tone skin. |

Some great suggestions. I guess it's just a lot of trial and error.

Yes Arielle,it really is a trial and error journey.
In EDM my closest match is Fairly light beige, but it has a little too much color to it for me... |

I'm still trying
At least the sampling is kind of fun even though it's frustrating and expensive. |
