Question for those with oily skin
Just wanted to hear what MMU foundation & finishing powder work best for you.
I have tried BE, EDM, & OMC I am considering ordering samples from: Meow, Monave, Lumiere, Alima, & Pure Luxe Any suggestions or comments would be very much appreciated.

Re: Question for those with oily skin
I have to say Aubrey Nicole. Aside from my Pure Luxe Eraser, all of my products are from AN.
I use the following:
These products work well together to give me the look and oil control I want. The foundation and Rice Powder contain Kaolin Clay. This is the main oil controller in these products. The Rice Powder itself, is also for oil control. The Glow Powder provides a "soft focus" or creamy blend after foundation and blush. It brings everything together. It does contain silk powder and silica. I think those may help some with oil control? I'm not sure. I also use Lumiere FF, which is for dry skin. It does not do as well with "end of the day" oil buildup as AN. I still love to wear Lumiere because the coverage is great. With AN I get great coverage as well as oil control.

Re: Question for those with oily skin
I love Pure Luxe foundation and finishing powder. They both have kaolin clay to control the oilies. The finish is matte.

Re: Question for those with oily skin
ive just started using lumiere and VV loose mineral foundation and sheer veena veil finishing powder. Liking it so far. Already found a great colour match, and it gives me a good coverage. It keeps my skin matte all day.

Re: Question for those with oily skin
I have oily, acne-prone skin and live in a humid climate. I really like Jenulence. The kaolin helps control my oilies, it doesn't make me itch or breakout. Plus Jenya gives great customer service and is very accomodating. I even found two great matches in their foundation/powder so I'm super happy. They have a good variety of foundations with yellow undertones.
I seldom use a finishing powder so can't really comment there. I have MAD's Silk Veil and SPF powder as well as Lumiere's Sand Silk powder. I like them all.

Re: Question for those with oily skin
Someone said those with oily skin should not use foundation which contains kaolin clay because it'll make your skin oilier. But as a primer it's okay. Issit true?
I use fyrinnae foundation which contains kaolin clay and it seems to make my skin turn orange and darker. I think it's because of the oil. So I dont think the kaolin helps. |

Re: Question for those with oily skin
The only brand I've tried with kaolin is Jenulence and it doesn't make my skin oilier, more orange or darker at all
In fact my foundation looks the best at the end of the day when the foundation has had a chance to 'meld' with my skin. I only get a bit shiny on my t-zone, not greasy like I did with some kaolin-free brands. Perhaps it depends on the concentration of kaolin to the other ingredients in the foundation ![]()

Re: Question for those with oily skin
LittleJade, what shade (s) work for you in Jenulence? What other MMU shades work for you? I've heard great things about it and thinking I might sample, but the colors on my screen look so dark and yellow. Do you wear the foundation powder or the heavier one, foundation concealer? Thanks for any info!

I can also wear LaurEss Elemental Soft Yellow but it works best with a bit of Pure Yellow added. I'm working through my Meow samples right now, you can check my vox blog for updates ![]()

Re: Question for those with oily skin
I know you're looking for MMU suggestions, but I thought I would mention this. Sorry if you already know all this stuff! I used to have super oily skin until I started using oil on my skin!
If you're using anything drying like alcohol or soaps, switch to something for sensitive skin. When you strip your skin's natural moisture, it has to overproduce oil to compensate for the loss. Make sure to tone after cleansing to get the pH back to the skin's normal level. I love Nivea Visage's Moisturizing Toner. Apply oil as your moisturizer. I got olive squalene and vitamin E from thesage.com. I mix about 20% vitamin E into squalene and apply 2 drops morning and night. The difference in oil production is amazing. Jojoba oil is good also because it's closes to the skin's natural sebum, but it clogged my pores. YMMV. |

Re: Question for those with oily skin
LittleJade, thanks so much for the color advice! I have read good things about Jenulence and may just have to sample, but I really am supposed to be on a no-buy right now!

Re: Question for those with oily skin
Thanks for the tip, but I've tried the oil thing & just like I thought it makes my skin worse. That's great it works for you, but I know my skin well & what all I've tried & what's worked & what hasn't worked.
