Reviews for Minimalist Mineral Foundation from LaurEss??

On April 1, LaurEss opened their newly renovated website and officially started offering their most awaited Minimalist Mineral Foundation:

"Minimalist is the perfect way to describe this luxurious foundation. With only 4 ingredients (5 depending on color), this formula meets the needs of even the most sensitive skin. A synergistic blend of minerals provides a silky lightweight feel, a soft matte finish, and buildable coverage, without over-drying, or feeling chalky. Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide provide UV protection while mica reflects light to give a soft focus finish without adding glitter or sheen. Perfectly balanced for those who have experienced problems with other mineral foundations that contained too much Zinc Oxide, too much Mica, too much Titanium Dioxide, or too many other added ingredients. Perfect for normal to oily skin. The Minimalist foundation is the simplest blend with extraordinarily beautiful results."

Price: $2 for a sample, $17.60 for net wt. 0.35 oz/10 g

Has anyone tried it yet? Care to share your reviews?

Re: Reviews for Minimalist Mineral Foundation from LaurEss??

Probably most people haven't gotten a chance to use their samples long enough to review. I just got mine today. The texture is very nice and I am looking forward to testing them out this week. Initial thoughts: The foundation is more matte then the Elemental which is my normal foundation of choice. I is not as heavy either, not that I consider Elemental to be heavy, but the high Zinc oxide content of the Elemental seems to make it more creamy feeling, while this is more silky. If that makes any sense. I rubbed t on the back of my hand and the little hair pores there seemed to disappear so I think this will have a nice finish with no emphasized pores. I know, my testing isn't very scientific

I am very excited about this since the weather is starting to warm up and my skin usually increases oil production once the humidity starts. It does feel a lot like the original formula but I can already tell it builds up with less layering then the original, which is what they said it should do. Covered my broken capillary on my hand that I usually judge coverage by.

I will post more once I can give it a test run on my face. So far looks very promising though.

Re: Reviews for Minimalist Mineral Foundation from LaurEss??

I wore this all day yesterday and I LOVE it! It is so lightweight and soft, yet evened out all my ruddiness and concealed red spots from healing acne! I even got a compliment from a coworker! It reminds me a lot of the original but did a better job covering redness. It has titanium dioxide as the first ingredient, but doesn't feel heavy or cakey at all. Now that the cold weather is ending and my skin isn't a s dry, I will definitely be using the Minimalist. I will give it another week to be sure, but I see a full size order in my very near future. YAY! Oh and the color is spot on to the Elemental colors of the same name. What a relief!

I would call it Medium and buildable. I could get full coverage where I needed it, but it isn't like some full coverage foundation where you get a really heavy coverage with one layer. This is more adjustable.

Re: Reviews for Minimalist Mineral Foundation from LaurEss??

I think I'm gonna have to try this! (Wish I would'a done it while the sale was still going on. ) I sampled the other formula and I loved the coverage it gave me and the overall end result but I felt that I was looking a bit shiny by the end of the day. With the warmer months coming up soon I can see that being an even bigger problem. So this would probably be perfect for me.

Hi Shortcake! According to the LaurEss forum, the sale is still going on until at least the 18th, happy shopping! I think you will be very pleased with this more matte formula.

Thanks for posting this! The night that I posted that message, I figured I'd go check out their website just incase and sure enough, the sale was still going! yay! I debated between just ordering a full size of the shade I *think* I would wear (tried Radiant Neutral and it was a bit too dark so I'm pretty sure Subtle Neutral will be it for me) or just getting a bunch of samples and I decided to play it safe and go with the samples. I got the Subtle Neutral sample (along with a Radiant Fawn just out of curiosity), a few blush samples, a couple Luminesce samples, and a finishing powder sample. I'm really afraid I'm going to become addicted to this line... It's more expensive than what I'm used to but the quality is amazing too. It's worth it! I hope I get my package before the 18th because that's also the day I get paid so I'd be able to place an order for the full size at the sale price.

Re: Reviews for Minimalist Mineral Foundation from LaurEss??

I can't wait to hear about your goodies! I agree this is a very high quality brand. I just love the way the makeup feels on my skin and the colors are gorgeous. I think the best thing is that the foundation colors are more complex then other brands. I mean they really seem to be true skin tones rather then yellow, peach, pink, brown, that so many other companies offer then you need to mix and mix to get a match. I know that was the problem I had with Aromaleigh, the foundation colors were very one dimensional. I think I used about 5 different colors to get my match in the old Aromaleigh PP formula. With LaurEss I have several colors I can wear and I never have to mix. Maybe it is just more forgiving on my skin or something, but I love it.

Re: Reviews for Minimalist Mineral Foundation from LaurEss??

OMG....................I have had my LaurEss Minimalist foundation samples for a few days now. It only took a couple tries to find the exact match for me. It seems to just melt into my skin. I am sold, I love it.
I also ordered samples of the Optimal Coverage concealer and luminesce.
It does not feel dry or cakey like others I have tried. And it looks just beautiful.
Can't wait to use on others and to order my full sizes.
Have I said lately how much I love MUT....but I seriously need a "no buy" tracker soon!
