Shade question: color match from Bobbi Brown Sand to mmu?

I was wondering if anyone wears (or have worn) Bobbi brown oil free even finish foundation Sand, which is my shade. I'm trying to sample some mmu brands (including Monave and Aubrey Nicole after reading the posts here!), and I know that bobbi brown is a perfect match for me. I think I have yellow undertone - I'm Asian with very light complexion.

I'm fairly new to makeup itself, so I'll also ask a basic question. How do you figure out your undertone? (Department store makeup artists told me that I have yellow undertone - both from bobbi brown and nars) and when you put on the mmu foundation on, how do you know it matches the skin tone? (are you supposed to look like you have no makeup on? or a little lighter? )

Thanks!

Re: Shade question: color match from Bobbi Brown Sand to mmu?

most women want their MMU to match perfectly, but i've heard of women who like their MMU shade to be a little off (either a little light or a little dark) because it gives them more of a glowy look. personally, i want my makeup to look natural, as if i have nothing on and i just have naturally flawless skin. if you're asian, chances are that your undertones are yellow (i'm asian too.) all MMU websites tell you which undertone their shade of makeup is, and since there are so many different MMU websites (all with different names for their shades) no one can give you one MMU shade name that will help you find a perfect match for all the MMU sites.
