Stupid idea, or not?
I have been reading about setting mineral makeup with a spritz of water, but I am wondering if I could run the water hot in the sink and then dip my face momentarily in the steam. I am wondering if the warmth and the moisture will help the minerals adhere to my skin.

I think it's a fantastic idea. I spray my face with just water and it works well, but sometimes I will hit my face with the hot air of the blow dryer, sometimes a combo of both. So I bet the steam would work really well.

Re: Stupid idea, or not?
Why not just take a flocked sponge and dip it under hot running water and dab that onto your face. Seems a lot easier to me.

Re: Stupid idea, or not?
Great idea - I often do the dishes straight after makeup for exactly that reason!!

Really? It seems like more work to me. The time it would take to do all the dabbing would take me longer than a quick dip under the steam.

Re: Stupid idea, or not?
I generally apply my MMU with a damp sponge. It works great. But Sometimes I need a bit of extra moisture, so I say give it a try!

Re: Stupid idea, or not?
Certainly an interesting idea. I use a hydrosol to spritz, but could certainly see the steam being an easy alternative. Let us know how it goes!

Re: Stupid idea, or not?
The only issue i can see is that steam carries heat, and heat makes you sweat, or at the very least, draws the oils out from your pours.

Re: Stupid idea, or not?
The sink in the bathroom doesn't kick off that much steam, so I am going to see if the kitchen sink will, maybe try a bowl of water heated in the microwave.

Re: Stupid idea, or not?
Wouldn't it take more time to steam your face that way instead of spritzing? If you had a face steamer, then it could be done in seconds. But the temperature of tap water is way below boiling, so it will never give off that much steam from the tap.. you'd have to let it run a really long time. Which is a waste of water in the end.

Re: Stupid idea, or not?
I guess it depends on what your water temperature is set at, and maybe your sink. My kitchen sink kicks off way more steam than my bathroom sink, and it builds up pretty quick.

Re: Stupid idea, or not?
No No No
Do Not Use Steam To Set Make Up, Only Use A Spitzer Like Evian.
Using Steam Will Open Your Pores And The Make Up Will Sink Into The Pores And Clogg, It Will Also Make You Sweat And The Make Will Be Ruined.
Apply A Good Base Moisturizer To The Skin, Apply Make Up And Then Only Spitz With A Product Like Evain Which Has A Fine Even Mist. This Will Set Your Make Up And Not Ruin It In Any Way.
Do You Think J Lo Stick Her Face In The Dish Water Before A Shoot - No Neither Do I.
Keep Your Make Up Fresh - Use Evain
