Taylor Made pigment storage box?

Does anyone use these boxes? Do the pigments leak?

Right from the product page:

Jars may leak when suffering major handling.
I've looked at these, but haven't bought one yet. I would think that if you filled it up and left it sitting in one place, or were really careful when moving it, it would be fine for pigment storage.

Re: Taylor Made pigment storage box?

I would also like to know about those who have bought from her. Just about any jar can be used for holding pigments as long as it isnt moved lol. But i know most of us are on the go and cant keep all of our makeup in one place.

I haven't tried it either. Love to see a review if someone has.

Re: Taylor Made pigment storage box?

I purchased the tin 20 pigment box in a previous sale, and it is a good deal. The jars hold more than the normal 5g jars, in fact I poured the pigment from the original tin jar into a 10g jar and it filled the jar completely up. I was barely able to get the sifter on. So these are definitely a good deal.

The only problem I have with the jars in the box is that they are extremely hard to open. They are not screw top lids, and you have to pull them off. You have to be very, very careful when you open these because there is no sifter so it is very possible for the pigment to be spilled.

I almost lost an entire piggie because I had to force the lid off and because of that, all the of pigment spilled onto my hand and I was able to salvage most of it. So if you order this, then make sure you have extra 10g sifter jars lying around. You'll be thankful you have them. If I have time tonight, I'll take some pictures of the jars.

Re: Taylor Made pigment storage box?

I second everything Phantom Goddess has said. It is a good concept, but the jars are extremely hard to open and with my jars, either the lids were too tight or too loose. I would highly recommend ordering 10g jars (I ordered mine from eBay very cheaply and they work great) and transferring into 10g jars. I think it is worth it to order the box just for the overall value, even if you don't like the box and the jars in the long run. I would take pictures of my box and jars but I threw them away a few months ago. I love Taylor's pigments and values but the box just did not work out for me.

Oh man. Storage for jars!! Awesome! I had no idea TMM had this.

So, the normal 10g jars fit into these boxes? If so, oh man, I am *so* looking into that!

The normal 10g jars do not fit into the box well, I meant that the pigment inside the jars that came with the box can fit into a 10g jar.

Re: Taylor Made pigment storage box?

I think you can get them for much less here (20pc 1 1/4 inch Round Aluminum Jar Set for $5.97 at Widget Supply) and because the containers have a push on lid, there is definitely a chance of leakage.

I despise those jars and the box that they come in, along with the problems that I have already mentioned in my previous posts, the blasted box won't stay closed.

Re: Taylor Made pigment storage box?

would you say its worth buying the pigment box or would it be better value to buy them as singles?

The pigment boxes are a good value, especially when you can get them during the sales she sometimes have. I just know that I prefer to have the pigments in sifter jars.
