What do you think of Lumiere?

Inspired by a MMU thread in another forum, I ordered some samples of Lumiere's Luminesse fdt, and I am really impressed with the result. I took a chance, and ordered light beige, medium beige, medium beige neutral, and threw in golden light as well, and the last one turned out almost right, though a bit on the pale side. But the result is really stunning! Not too powdery, no tin man-look, no tight skin, no accentuated pores. I must mention that I have dry, sensitive skin, but ID made my normally small pores look enormous (not to mention the itching).

I took a chance and ordered the 4gm size of the next color up (light medium golden), plus a sample of golden medium in the flawless finish formula.

Anyone else tried Lumiere?

Re: What do you think about Lumiere?

Love Lumiere products. I too wear light/medium gold. The light gold is just a bit too light for me, but can wear a layer of light/medium over it and it works. Lumiere's gold is a little softer, less intense golden than some other companies so I think it works for some of us with lighter yellow undertones. I have found that I can wear a variety of undertones within Lumiere's line (I can do this with aromaleigh too) while with many other companies I can only find a match with one undertone. Try their primer, it's great, not greasy feeling like some other brands. Their samples, and shipping if you are only ordering samples, are so reasonable. Don't forget to try the cashmere formula too. Remember though that the luminess formulation is darker than the other formulas so take this into account when ordering the FF, VV or cashmere.

Re: What do you think of Lumiere?

I love Lumiere.I especially love the Luminesse formula!I am really getting into their eye colors lately. They go on so nice and can be foiled VERY well if you like that look.I know quite a few gals here have complained about the CS, but I have never had any issues with them and they are always so willing to bend over backwards to help. I feel like Lumiere is my HG of nearly everything!

Re: What do you think of Lumiere?

I love Lumiere. This was the first brand I tried after BE. I've yet to find another foundation that looks as good on my skin. I also love their blushes and eyeshadows. I've also had nothing but positive experiences with this company. I find most people that Like Luminesse also like FF. For me VV and Cashmere work best on my skin.

Re: What do you think about Lumiere?

I really love lumiere, I got 8 sample sized jars 1 all over colour, a blush, a viel and the rest in foundations. The smallest sample I got is my absolute fave which sucks but its the bare skin silk radiance, it's sooo beautiful on the skin, so silky and gives a luminous slight colour and a nice sheen.

Re: What do you think about Lumiere?

I'm totally loving Lumiere! I've yet to find my perfect match but I've found a few that are close enough that I can get away with wearing while waiting (try saying THAT five times fast!) for more samples. I've been sampling the Flawless Face and Luminesse formulas and I love them both! They look so similar on me that I'm trying to figure out the differences so I know which full-size to order... But I agree, they're just stunning! Not at all powdery, gives a slight glow but not the typical shiny/oily looking type of glow commonly seen with MMU. And what I really really love is that it lasts! I can apply it in the morning and when I go to wash my face at 11pm or midnight, I don't look the least bit shiny or oily and still have all the coverage! It's awesome! I've never found a MMU that can pull that off!

I've tried their Flawless Silk (I think that's what it's called?) finishing powder as well as the Pearlfecting and I love both of those as well. I have a sample of their Delicate Pink blush and it's very pretty! I'm dying to try more blushes and lots of their eyeshadows! Just gotta get that foundation match!

Re: What do you think about Lumiere?

Ordered some more samples (hopefully coming tomorrow). I really like the cashmere formula, it looks great ALL day. Got compliments on my skin the day I wore it. I think I may mix some of my luminess with cashmere. I also ordered a sample of "climax" from silk naturals, came today and really like it.

I haven't tried SN yet. I hear you have to MIX the foundation yourself. Which is something I am NOT interested in doing.BUt I do hear good things about the lippies.

I haven't tried SN foundation, but I love their lipglosses and eyeshadows.

Re: What do you think about Lumiere?

Lumiere is my absolute favorite mmu brand. Why? Because their foundation works for me. It doesn't cake up like most makeup (that's just from my personal experiences that is) and doesn't have that "shiny" effect. It doesn't make me break out or cause any skin irritations. It evens out my skin tone very well and doesn't give me that "flat matte" look. I really like their Velvet Veena formula but their Cashmere formula is good too. Actually, I can't tell the difference between the two formulas. LOL

Out of their other products, I've only tried their two of their blushes: Wild Rose and Burnt Sienna. Burnt Sienna I did not like, but I absolutely loved Wild Rose. It has a slight shimmer but wasn't glittery (perfect for a daily, subtle flush of color). I have yet to try their other blushes and eyeshadows.

I also love their brushes! I was one of the many people who participated in the Lumiere Pre-Buy sale last year. I bought a 9-piece brush set, a kabuki, a long-handled kabuki, and a long-handled baby buki. I absolutely love synthetic bristle brushes and these are great. My kabuki brush shed a few hairs (like 5) during the first few weeks of use but that's it.

I've heard a lot of complaints from other mmu users about Lumiere's customer services but I haven't had any problems with their customer service. Everyone should definitely give Lumiere a try.

Their blush shades are very interesting. I will soon be trying out their foundies. They say it has good coverage.

Re: What do you think about Lumiere?

I absolutely love Lumiere blushes; they have the best mineral blushes out there. My faves are ALL the veena blushes (great under my MAC MSFs) and their silk blushes. Their e/s have great staying power and do not need to be foiled to achieve maximum color pay-off. I ordered their Cashmere foundation (it's in transit) because I've heard a lot of raves about it.
