What's a good place to start?
Hey all,
I'm new to this forum, so it's nice to meet you all. Also, new to MMU. What's a good brand to start. I have fair skin, thats prone to acne, and wanted to try it to see something different. I was thinking of going with JC Nadia, or something from ebay (it's inexpensive, and I'm a student...) Maybe a starter kit or basic kit that has a couple foundations so i can mix? What do you guys suggest? Thanks! |

If I were you, I would start out with companies that offer free samples!
oceanmistcosmetics.com signatureminerals.com everydayminerals.com elegantminerals.com ktnaturals.com Also, you might want to check out silk naturals on ebay - they offer a foundation kit where you can mix your own so you're sure to find your perfect match!

Re: What's a good place to start?
Thanks! I was thinking a kit might be a good place to start because it would offer me not only shades but the brushes. I'm definitely going to check out some samples though. And the link has lots of useful info.

Re: What's a good place to start?
I would start with the sample kits. Buying a full size without trying is pointless. I did that and I ended up with two full jars of foundation which I'll never use. Besides the brushes which came with the kit were just terrible. So I bought few synthetic brushes which I love and tried a lot of brands before finding my HG.
I started with everydayminerals. They offer free sample kit. It didn't work for me, but there is a lot of people who love this brand. I would also recommend Lumiere, Aubrey Nicole and Meow, and if you look for good pigments try She Space or Mad Minerals. |

Re: What's a good place to start?
If you are on icompact.com I made a newbie starter list so it gives some pointers on where to start. I can't seem to post it here as its too big.
I see you are Canadian. You can check out buffd.com, blusche.com, thepureboutique.com and cosmictree.ca for reducing the waiting time for samples and saving on customs. buffd has heavy full coverage, pureboutique has medium to full and blusche is light to medium. I havent tried cosmic tree as the shipping is high and the colours look odd to me. However, if you are in NS maybe you could get more info on the line.
