Why can't descriptions be more accurate?!
Before I placed my order for my first mmu kit, I had to try and pick my e/s colors and blushes. The website, edm, did provide pictures with their usual warning (may not be depicted correctly.) So I bascially went searching for swatches on other websites and the color descriptions I found and color swatches provided were much more accurate, practically exactly, to what I had seen in comparison to what I recieved.
What I don't understand is why don't these companies provide better pictures!?!? It's obviously not that hard since so many ppl do this to help others out. With as many makeup blogs and websites out there, we know this is possible. Why won't these companies get a hint!? Does anyone know any websites whose colors are actually accurate?

I wish I knew! I had the same problem with EDM. The pictures aren't just a little off, they are way off.

Re: Why can't descriptions be more accurate?!
LaurEss just updated their website and redid all the pictures and they are amazing! I look at them on my monitor and compare them to the jars I already have and they are spot on. They also give a very succinct description, without being flowery and over the top. I hate those sites that tell me how "fabulously gorgeous" each color is rather then describe it to me so I can decide if it is fabulously gorgeous for myself. LOL!
![]() I agree about EDM's pics. I bought a blush I thought was a warm pink, it was practically purple there was so much blue in it. Can't even remember the name it went straight into the mistakes bin (lol AKA garbage). ![]() I also dislike the sites where they obviously used a flash so the images are way over exposed and the colors are impossible to judge. Or ones where they are taken in different lighting, you can tell they are photographing outside and some pictures it was sunny or some it was cloudy... Lol I am pretty picky too I guess. ![]() |

Re: Why can't descriptions be more accurate?!
All monitors view colours differently, but yeah they should try to get the colours accurate and not rely on that as an excuse for poor photos!
And like Makeupbabe I cant stand it when the say how wonderful a colour is (all colours are wonderful ), I want to know if its a (eg) warm or cool pink etc. |

I totally agree. How hard is it to aim and shoot with a digital camera? Even my 8 yr. old can do it.

Re: Why can't descriptions be more accurate?!
really? I thought EDM just updated their site. I could have sworn when this most recent site launched there was a big hubbub about the swatches not being accurate. I also don't like how they took a picture of a powder in a jar and then just manipulate the color digitally. Like we can't tell the lumps in the powders are the same in every pot.

Re: Why can't descriptions be more accurate?!
From the Everyday Minerals website:
Everyday Minerals April 10th, 2008 Hi Everyone! We will be having our soft launch of the website on April 25th. This means that the current site and the new site will be available at the same time. Everyone will get to play with the new site, shop and have fun! This way we get to work out any kinks that we find in the shopping experience, get feedback and make final adjustments before switching over to the new site for good. The soft launch period will be about 2 weeks. |

Re: Why can't descriptions be more accurate?!
So will this "soft launch" be a different URL?
