the 2 inch barel will give you loser curls which will most likely look like waves on you. i would say go with the smaller barell, your hair looks long and thick so the weight of it will most likely pull some of the curl out. With the smaller barrel you will still have some of the curl maintained even as the day goes on, where i fear that the larger barrel may just end up making your hair look straight except for at the very ends.

I don't even consider a 2" a curler... i consider it a volume maker and a wave maker, but a curler no... Even the 1 1/2" makes more of a wave than a curl. When I had really long hair, I always used a 1 1/4" and a 1" together.

Re: Hot Tools Curling Iron suggestion needed

I've never seen a hot tools curling iron larger then 1.5 inches...interesting! But essentially, a 2 inch curling iron should only typically be used to create mass volume at the crown.

I use a 2" barrel ceramic curler because I use it to add volume and control my hair's waves and cow-licks. A straightening iron is too straight, a smaller curler is too curly. It all depends on what you're using it for. I definitely recommend ceramic, less damaging.
