Is this ok

Ok i notice when i flat iron my hair my ends are frizzy even after i use the "chase method" where you comb your hair and the flatiron at the same time. Anywho last time i flat ironed my hair and it was frizzy i thought why dont i use a lil bit of warm olive oil on my ends after i apply a leave in condish. Well i did and the frizziness was reduced A LOT so im wondering is this ok to do more often. My hair is relaxed but it is thick so id have to dump a LOT of olive oil on it to make it greasy LOL. I just use a quater size amount and run it through my ends while its warm and leave it. The next day frizziness is gone and my hair a moisturized.

Is this some how damaging? Is this ok to do if it works?

Re: Is this ok

I've never tried that, but like Lucy said, oils won't damage your hair. I use CHI Silk Infusion after I wash/condition my hair and it dries frizz-free and then requires only a tiny bit of heat to straighten it. Maybe you could try that.

Olive oil is fine. I've used it on my hair with good results.

Re: Is this ok

Olive oil is fine! Serums will also help out with frizz too. Chi Biosilk is wonderful for this problem.

Re: Is this ok

Oilive oil, advocado oil, coconut oil and palm oil are all great for your hair.
They can penetrate the hair shaft and help strengthen it.
Other oils like jojoba and mineral are questionable as they can't penetrate the hair shaft very well.

If your hair feels great, then go for it. Personally, I like applying serum into my hair after styling.

I also read that putting a few drops of oil with your conditioner, is really beneficial as well.
