Kousmine breakfast / Budwig cream anyone ?

For those of you who don't know what i'm talking about the Budwig cream is a breakfast recipe that's been invented y the Doctors Kousmine and Budwig (i found a nice article here).

It's a healthy way of starting the day, and it changes from the usual cereals/toasts+jam/toasts+nutella/crępes or whatever it is you like to eat for your breakfast.
i also like the idea it's a unique meal, kinda like a smoothie because you throw everything in and mix. You also eat fruits, we know how important they are for a healthy diet. It also has apparently detoxification properties, although i didn't try it for that particular effect.

Here's the recipe (from the previous link):
Kousmine-Budwig breakfast recipe (choose organic ingredients)

- 4 tablespoons low fat cottage cheese (or yoghurt)
- 2 tablespoons organic flaxseed or organic sunflower oil
Mix the cottage cheese and the flaxseed oil in a bowl with a fork, until you obtain a rich, white and creamy blend.
Add to this mixture
- 1 small ripe banana (or 2 tsp honey)
- ˝ lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons freshly ground flaxseeds or 6 almonds, 6 hazelnuts, or any other type of nuts, excluding peanuts
- 2 tablespoons fresh whole-wheat rice, millet, buckwheat, oats (not oatmeal)
- 1 portion of seasonal fresh fruit. (strawberries, raspberries, cherries, grapes, apple etc..)
Grind the nuts, or flaxseed and the cereals. Crush the banana with a fork. Add all the ingredients to the cottage cheese and mix well.
Anyway, I found the recipe on a french blog i read regularly, and decided to try it. Ouch. I used flaxseeds and barley oats which didn't really improve my digestion (I discovered later i can't digest them). The taste is however quite pleasant until you add the lemon juice. Mine wasn't from a fresh lemon but it really tasted weird, too much sour for me. It ended in the garbage

Did you try it ? Despite my bad experience, it's certainly worth the few minutes you take to prepare it, I might try another time with quinoa flakes (and without lemon juice -_-°).

I can handle flaxseeds, however I hate the taste of quinoa, i have tried every method to cook it and I really have forced myself to like it but I just can't. This recipe sounds yummy though, I want to try it. Thanks!

LOL.

I really like quinoa cooked with chicken broth.

Thanks for the recipe! I really don't like cottage cheese though, is there an alternative? Plain yogurt?
