Re: late pregnancy dr switch

They shouldn't have to redo anything, they'll get all of your files from the previous dr.

Yup, they will transfer everything over, pap smears, bloodwork, HCG levels, sonograms, everything. Unless you request that something being redone.

Re: Late pregnancy dr switch

well the dr and nurses there just pissed me and my husband off for the last time, the second time we got an ultra sound it as such a transformation since the last time we have seen it and when i asked if they could help pin point the head and feet and all he left the room very rude, no body would help us, its my first pregnancy and i freak out about everything and the nurses are very rude to me, i pay my money to be seen so i dont see the big deal, and when i asked what was being done on my next vist they said the dr didnt write it down,, biggest thing.. is on my second ultrasound dr said i was a week and some days ahead of what he thought .. well last week, i had a question and called up there, they asked how far along i was and i told them the nurse argued with me and was very rude.. i told them what the dr said she said he never put it in there so its going by what it was! I asked the dr next time i saw him he said.. ITS JUST A WEEK WHY DOES IT MATTER!! IT MATTERS TO ME!!! WHEN AM I DUE! i was upset and not to mention if something goes wrong this dr,, doesnt put anything in my file.. nobody will know anything.. its just time to switch,, they are idiot i will be here for ever ranting.lol

Re: Late pregnancy dr switch

I did this with Olivia.

We moved back home from Phoenix on September 26, 2006 and I had her on December 17, 2006. I didn't even have any insurance when I moved back home!! *grrr* In Arizona, there's a law that was passed several years ago requiring insurance companies to offer insurance to self-employed individuals under the same term/rates as big companies. We were in real estate out there and self-employed and I had GREAT insurance. So, not only was I looking for a new doc at 26 weeks but I had to find one that would actually *touch* me (very high risk) and that would go for the "I have no insurance" thing. It was tough. And I found a really, really, really sucky one, too.

I brought my records with me (not including US, etc) and they took copies of my records and if I recall correctly, they did do another ultrasound. Other than that, it was all the same.

Good luck with all of that. It stressed me out to the nth degree. Ugh!

Warmly,

Brandi

Re: Late pregnancy dr switch

yeah i am sure its going to be loads of fun, but we have taken all we can from this practice, i understand he hears pregnant women complain all day and see's if they are boy or girl.. whoo big deal to him, but damn do you have to be an ass, i mean its like when he looks at me in office.. uh... i hate my job.. what is she doing here.. i am to the point if i have a question i dont want to call my dr i sit there and toggle should i call or not.. and it shouldn't be like that.. so thats when i said hunny.. i want a new doc.. lol..

Re: Late pregnancy dr switch

try not to worry to much about switching, sounds like you are already seeing a real piece of work, i doubt you could find anyone much worse.

As for me, I'll be around 8 months when we drive back to NC, and I have to start all over with a new dr.

Re: Late pregnancy dr switch

I totally agree that you should switch docs!

I don't get it. Don't those who are in the field of OBSTETRICS understand they are dealing with women whose hormones and emotions can be anywhere at any given time?!?!?!? You think THEY'D understand, above all others!!

I do wish you the best of luck and I think you are making the right decision

Hugs,

Brandi

thank you for understanding, they make you feel so stupid for just even asking a question, so i was just wondering what i should expect at the neew dr, didnt know if they would do everything over for them selves or not.

Re: Late pregnancy dr switch

I think you did the right thing by switching doctors. Sounds like him and his staff are quite rude! There is no reason for that type of behaviour. Doctors have bad days but they shouldn't take it out on patients. And then there are some who are rude 24/7.

I know what is like. I have never been pregnant but I have experienced one or two rude and judgemental doctors and have since switched to better ones.

Keep us updated.

Re: Late pregnancy dr switch

My mom had to find a new doctor when she was 8 months pregnant, due to the fact that my mom and dad were moving. Never been pregnant myself, but I have not gone back to doctors b/c I felt like they didnt care, or didnt listen to my concerns (one actually thought I was making symptoms up). I love my doctor now, but I am moving and have to find a new one, it's stressful.
