My gym membership

I moved out of my parents home and realized that the gym that I joined does not have a location very close to my new place. I think it is not a good idea that I have to take the bus and a very short train ride to the closest gym in the winter, and in the summer, I guess I can take two buses to get there.

I think it would be time consuming. My plan is to go back to school in the fall, part-time, evening classes and I work during the day. My gym bag would be to heavy to carry with me to work and afterwards, go direct to the gym.

So...I'm thinking of cancelling my gym membership, but at the same time, I feel sad because even though I am not crazy for gyms, I enjoyed it this time. I even like the fact that I feel better after I work out.

A good thing to cancel my membership is that it would help me a bit financially.

For some reason, I can't decide if I should quit or not, because of all the pro's and con's.

Re: My gym membership

a tough one. Having worked in gyms I would find out how much it would cost to cancel the membership, because a lot of them are lock-in contracts with cancellation fees for early leaving.

You can always work out outside the gym, maybe go running in your local area or stuff like that

Re: My gym membership

It cost $100 to cancel and I have not gone since I moved in with my bf. So far, it is cold this summer and I don't feel like going out just to go to the gym.

Re: My gym membership

well i would cancel then. As I said, there are heaps of places you could exercise outdoors...

and if you do feel like going to the gym, most of them have casual entry which would cost less per month on average than paying for permanent membership.. you know?
